Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Automation Engineer with strong expertise in test automation, UI/API testing, BDD frameworks, and backend validation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Playwright, Selenium, Python, Java, Cucumber BDD, REST APIs, and DB2/SQL testing and will work closely with development leads, product owners, and business stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain scalable automated test suites with a strong focus on UI automation using Selenium and/or Playwright.

• Develop and execute automated tests using Python, Java, and Cucumber BDD.

• Build automation solutions covering web UI, REST APIs, and backend/database validation.

• Define test strategies by translating business and technical requirements into test scenarios, test data requirements, and contingency plans.

• Own test planning and execution, including test cases, defect management, reporting, test metrics, and release sign-offs.

• Perform functional, regression, and integration testing of REST APIs.

• Conduct database testing and validation using DB2/SQL, including data reconciliation and stored procedure validation where applicable.

• Validate batch jobs and end-to-end workflows, including scheduling, file/data transfers, and downstream system impacts.

• Enhance existing automation frameworks and identify opportunities to improve test coverage, efficiency, and reliability.

• Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and act as a quality advocate throughout the development lifecycle.

• Identify and communicate defects early within each sprint and collaborate with development teams to resolve issues.

• Utilize SDLC and DevOps tools such as Jira, Git, Jenkins, and Bitbucket Pipelines.

• Work closely with Dev Leads, Product Owners, business teams, and client stakeholders to deliver effective test automation solutions.

Required Skills

• 8–12 years of experience in QA/Test Automation.

• Strong hands-on experience with Playwright and/or Selenium.

• Strong programming experience with Python and/or Java.

• Experience with Cucumber BDD and automation framework development/enhancement.

• Strong experience in REST API testing and automation.

• Hands-on experience with DB2 and SQL/database testing.

• Experience with end-to-end, regression, functional, and integration testing.

• Experience validating batch processes and backend workflows.

• Experience with Jira, Git, Jenkins, and/or Bitbucket Pipelines.

• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum and SDLC methodologies.

• Excellent analytical, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
