Job Summary
Sky Solutions is seeking a detail-oriented QA Analyst – Reporting & Data Validation to support a CMS federal healthcare technology program. The ideal candidate will have experience with Business Intelligence (BI) reporting, SQL development, data analysis, and data reconciliation. This role will focus on validating report accuracy, testing backend data, supporting data staging processes, and developing User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts to ensure reporting solutions meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Validate BI reports and dashboards for accuracy, completeness, functionality, and alignment with business requirements.
- Write and execute complex SQL queries to validate backend data, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile reporting results.
- Support data staging and backend data validation processes.
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into test scenarios, test cases, and detailed UAT scripts.
- Perform data reconciliation between source systems, staging tables, and reporting outputs.
- Identify, document, track, and retest defects related to reports, data quality, calculations, and business rules.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, report developers, data engineers, and QA teams to resolve issues and ensure reporting quality.
- Support regression testing, UAT execution, and release validation for reporting enhancements.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in BI reporting, QA, data validation, or data-focused testing.
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries, joins, aggregations, and data validation queries.
- Experience with BI/reporting tools such as SAP BusinessObjects, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
- Hands-on experience with data analysis, data reconciliation, and backend validation.
- Experience creating and executing test cases, test scenarios, and UAT scripts.
- Ability to understand business requirements and validate that reports accurately reflect business rules and expected results.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills when working with technical and business stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting CMS, federal healthcare, Medicare, Medicaid, or other government programs.
- Experience with enterprise databases such as Teradata, Oracle, or SQL Server.
- Familiarity with data staging, ETL/ELT processes, and data quality validation.
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Compensation:
The expected compensation range for this position is $$62,896 - $115,301 annually. Compensation is determined in good faith and may vary based on job-related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education, certifications, clearance level, labor category alignment, contract requirements, work location, internal equity, and business needs.
The posted range reflects the Sky's reasonable estimate at the time of posting and does not guarantee a specific salary or rate. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications and applicable contractual and business considerations.
