Python Developer

ROLE SUMMARY

Designs, develops, and maintains Python and Django applications that support business operations and digital initiatives. Delivers scalable, secure, and reliable software solutions through application development, system integration, database optimization, and data transformation while collaborating with business stakeholders and technical teams to support innovation through DevOps practices and emerging Generative AI capabilities.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and maintain Python and Django applications that are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Implement user interface components utilizing CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, or similar technologies as needed.
• Develop integrations with internal and external systems utilizing REST, SOAP, and WSDL-based services.
• Create and optimize SQL queries, database structures, and data access logic to support application functionality.
• Work with Business Analysts and stakeholders to translate functional requirements into technical specifications and solutions.
• Implement data mappings and transformations in accordance with business and technical requirements.
• Participate in peer code reviews and follow established coding standards and development best practices.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of DevOps pipelines utilizing Git and Azure DevOps.
• Contribute to the integration of Generative AI capabilities, including GPT models, embeddings, and agent-based components within enterprise applications.
• Troubleshoot issues across the application stack and collaborate with team members to resolve technical challenges.
• Collaborate with other developers and contribute to engineering best practices and software quality initiatives.
• Support testing, deployment, maintenance, and production support activities throughout the software development lifecycle.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS

Application Development

• Proficiency in Python and Django application development.
• Strong knowledge of SQL development, database design, and query optimization techniques.
• Strong understanding of application architecture, enterprise integrations, and service-oriented development concepts.

Integration Technologies

• Proficiency in REST services, SOAP services, WSDL-based integrations, and enterprise API development.
• Knowledge of data mapping, transformation, and integration concepts.

DevOps & Emerging Technologies

• Familiarity with Git, Azure DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and automated deployment practices.
• Knowledge of Generative AI technologies including GPT models, embeddings, prompt engineering, and agent-based solutions.
• Familiarity with Angular, front-end integration concepts, and modern web development practices.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

• 4-7 years of experience developing Python and Django applications.
• 3-5 years of experience developing and optimizing SQL queries and database solutions.
• 1-2 years of experience implementing Generative AI technologies including GPT models, embeddings, and agent-based solutions.
• 1-2 years of experience utilizing Angular or related front-end technologies.
• Experience working within Agile software development teams and modern delivery methodologies.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in collaborative and fast-paced development environments.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a related field.
• Python, cloud, AI, or Generative AI certifications preferred but not required.
