About the Role
We are looking for a strong Python Backend Engineer with hands-on experience in FastAPI, multi-tenant architectures, and Kubernetes to design, build, and scale secure backend systems. The ideal candidate will have deep experience in PostgreSQL RLS, LlamaIndex workflows, and building testable, production-grade APIs.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
- Implement multi-tenant architectures leveraging PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) and key-based tenant isolation.
- Integrate and orchestrate LlamaIndex workflows for intelligent data processing and retrieval.
- Develop and maintain unit tests and API tests using pytest to ensure reliability and code quality.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to deploy and manage microservices in Kubernetes environments.
- Optimize APIs for scalability, security, and observability.
- Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical documentation.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong proficiency in Python with 4+ years of backend development experience.
- Hands-on experience with FastAPI (or equivalent async frameworks like Starlette, aiohttp).
- Expertise in PostgreSQL, particularly Row-Level Security (RLS) and multi-tenant database design.
- Experience implementing or integrating LlamaIndex (or similar retrieval-augmented generation frameworks).
- Solid understanding of Kubernetes, containerization (Docker), and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong testing background — pytest, mocking, and test automation.
- Familiarity with asynchronous programming, RESTful API design, and authentication (OAuth2/JWT).
Nice to Have
- Experience with vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant).
- Familiarity with LangChain, OpenAI APIs, or LLM-based systems.
- Background in observability (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry).
- Prior contributions to open-source projects or LLM-related workflows.
