What to Expect

Tesla’s APAC Indirect Purchasing team is seeking a high-performing Global Supply Manager to partner with internal business stakeholders and vendors to execute strategies, drive continuousimprovement, and optimize our Asia Pacific source-to-pay processes throughcollaboration with the global team.

This role can be based inSeoul, Korea.

This role will lead strategic sourcing,issue and evaluate RFQs, manage commercial issues, lead negotiations and beresponsible for overall supplier management. This role’s primary area ofresponsibility is to manage indirect purchasing commodities and services in theAsia Pacific region.

This role requires a deep understanding ofsource-to-pay and proven experience with integrating business process andpolicies through procurement platforms. The Global Supply Manager is expectedto build solid relationship with key suppliers and stakeholders, developcommodity strategies, perform detailed spend analysis, know exactly what ishappening in the micro and macro-economic environment around commodities andtake initiative to optimize the supply base and identify and drive improvementsto processes and efficiency. To be a successful candidate for this role, youmust be a self-motivated, organized, proven sourcing expert who is comfortableworking in a fast-paced environment interacting with a variety of roles andbusiness functions.

What You’ll Do

• Partner with business teams to develop and execute procurement plans aligned with business strategies and priorities.

• Drive continual cost reduction and avoidance initiatives through strategic price negotiations

• Manage indirect purchasing with focus on Professional Services and tangible goods. Including but not limited to Consumables, Equipment, Chemicals, etc.

• Design, conduct and synthesize supplier, industry and market research for assigned commodities to develop sourcing strategies.

• Provide analysis of requirements, spend, and savings to ensure the most cost-effective options.

• Identify and negotiate commercial cost reduction opportunities based on a solid understanding of cost drivers and contracts.

• Develop and manage suppliers according to business needs and maintain day-to-day supplier relationships; act as the lead point of contact for commercial discussion.

• Issue RFQ for sourcing assigned commodities, review raised purchase requests and support/lead a strategic sourcing approval process.

• Contract management with suppliers

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and processes.

• Provide guidance to internal stakeholders on procurement principles, policies and processes.

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management, Engineering and/or equivalent experience or evidence of exceptional ability

• Minimum 3+ years’ experience in a similar role.

• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work in an extremely fast-paced environment

• Procurement experience at an international company is a plus

• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel

• Knowledge of purchasing processes (SOP's, RFP / RFQ / RFI's, PO's etc.)

• Superior negotiation, organization, analytical, and communication skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver high quality results

• Excellent English communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and between technical and non-technical audiences

• Proficiency in Korean and English
