Job Details:

General Notes

This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer without sponsorship. Periodic travel within the State of Texas.


Purpose

This position will manage and coordinate assigned projects, including the Texas Technology Access Program (TTAP) Demonstration Centers, Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) grant, and Alternative Financing Program. The position will STAP provide outreach, training, case management, technical assistance, and support to applicants and certifiers. They will manage and direct assigned projects with emphasis on time schedule control, coordination of project development and implementation, and communication with designated clients. They will manage, develop, directs and evaluate assigned projects utilizing accepted project management methodologies, communication and consultation with clients, project team members and other stakeholders. Develop project plans including project life cycle, budgets, resource requirements, change management processes, risk management, key milestones, communication mechanisms, test plans and deliverables. Implement and recommend policies and procedures to ensure compliance of all applicable laws, University policies, rules and regulations. Manage project implementation including emergent issues with emphasis on time schedule control to ensure all tasks are completed within established deadlines and budgets. They will work closely with designated clients keeping them informed of progress against plan. Prepare detailed reports on project progress with clients to include project plans, barriers and solutions, milestones, financial costs/projections and analyses. They will perform related duties as assigned.


Responsibilities

  • Manage the Specialized Telecommunications Assistance Program (STAP) Grant. Train on access to and use of the STAP program. Conduct outreach, vendor recruitment, and consumer technical assistance. Manage budget, monthly data collection and grantor reports.
  • Support Texas Technology Access Program (TTAP) grant obligations. Coordinate Demonstration Centers. Assist with outreach events.
  • Manage the Alternative Financing Program, an extension of the primary Texas Technology Access Program (TTAP) Grant.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree with at least 5 years of experience with project management in relevant area of assignment. Experience with a variety of assistive technologies. Experience developing accessible digital materials Experience with professional development design and delivery including synchronous and asynchronous online teaching via a formal learning management system like Canvas. Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Excellent attention to detail. Excellent organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Values the contributions of others in the workplace.Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.


Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree or Doctoral Degree in a disability related field with more than the required years of experience. Experience with America Sign Language (ASL). Experience with project outreach. Experience with augmentative communication and technologies for people with hearing and vision impairments. Experience with ubiquitous accessibility features in mainstream technologies. Experience creating accessible digital materials. Experience providing services and/or supports for people with a variety of disabilities along the full life spectrum.


Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Salary Range

$75,000 - depending on qualifications


Working Conditions

  • May work around standard office conditions.
  • Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
  • Periodic travel within the State of Texas.

Work Shift

  • M-F, Flexible between 8am-6pm
