We are seeking an experiencedProject Manager to lead commercial interior construction projects from contract award through final closeout. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience managing projects involvingdrywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, and other commercial interior finish systems.
This position will have ownership of project execution, includingscheduling, budgeting, procurement, subcontractor management, cost control, change management, documentation, and client communication. The successful candidate will work closely with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, estimators, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to established quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage commercial interior construction projects from contract award through completion, punch list, and final closeout.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, procurement plans, manpower requirements, and execution strategies.
- Review drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes of work, and other project documents to verify requirements and identify potential issues.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel throughout the project.
- Monitor project financial performance, including labor productivity, material costs, subcontractor costs, change orders, billing, and overall profitability.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, purchase orders, change orders, invoices, billing, and other project documentation.
- Coordinate material procurement and monitor long-lead materials to maintain project schedules.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor safety, quality, productivity, installation progress, and schedule performance.
- Manage subcontractor and vendor performance and address issues affecting cost, schedule, quality, or project execution.
- Identify project risks and develop practical solutions to minimize cost, schedule, and quality impacts.
- Lead project meetings and provide clear project updates to clients, general contractors, company leadership, and internal teams.
- Coordinate with estimating and operations teams to ensure a complete and accurate transition from estimating to project execution.
- Review project scope and contract requirements to identify potential change-order opportunities and cost exposures.
- Oversee punch-list activities, final documentation, turnover, warranty requirements, and project closeout.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, trade partners, vendors, and internal teams.
- 3+ years of Project Management experience in commercial interior construction.
- Required: Hands-on experience managing projects involving drywall, metal framing, acoustical ceilings, flooring, or related interior finishes.
- Strong understanding of commercial interior construction methods, sequencing, contracts, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and cost control.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, specifications, contracts, scopes, and construction documents.
- Proven experience managing subcontractors, vendors, clients, and multiple project stakeholders.
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, billing, and project closeout.
- Strong understanding of project financials, labor productivity, material costs, and subcontractor management.
- Proficiency with construction management software such asProcore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to travel to project sites as required.
- Valid driver's license required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
