Project Manager
Portland, OR (remote)
6+ Months Contract
Purpose:
Provide approximately six months of project management support to establish and coordinate multiple Supply Chain transformation, cost-savings, and process-improvement workstreams associated with a 3rd party consulting engagement. The PM will serve as Legacy's central coordination and implementation resource, working under the direction of Supply Chain leadership and in partnership with Vizient, the Enterprise PMO, and participating Legacy departments.
Legacy Supply Chain leadership will retain responsibility for initiative prioritization, scope, decision-making, resource allocation, and approval of outcomes. Vizient will remain accountable for its contracted services, resources, and deliverables.
Responsibilities:
- Establish an integrated implementation plan identifying workstreams, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, accountable owners, and timelines.
- Coordinate the kickoff and implementation of the Vizient engagement across participating Supply Chain functions and operational stakeholders.
- Track Vizient's contractual commitments, assigned resources, deliverables, milestones, and outstanding actions, ensuring appropriate follow-through and escalation.
- Coordinate initiative planning and sequencing based on priorities established by Legacy Supply Chain leadership.
- Maintain visibility into resource requirements, competing priorities, risks, and dependencies across participating Legacy departments.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between Vizient, Supply Chain leadership, subject-matter experts, clinical stakeholders, and operational teams.
- Integrate project tracking and reporting into Legacy's existing governance, service line operating model, Impact Tracker, sourcing plans, and other established tools, minimizing duplicative administrative work.
- Establish a practical meeting and reporting cadence that supports decision-making without creating unnecessary meetings or status updates.
- Identify and escalate delays, scope changes, resource constraints, and issues requiring leadership decisions.
- Support documentation of measurable outcomes, implementation progress, and validation requirements, while preserving Legacy's established financial approval and governance processes.
- Establish a sustainable transition plan so workstream owners can continue managing initiatives after the six-month PM engagement concludes.
Desired Background:
- Experienced project manager with demonstrated success coordinating complex, cross-functional initiatives involving external consulting partners.
- Strong organizational, stakeholder-management, facilitation, and execution skills.
- Experience managing multiple concurrent workstreams with competing priorities and limited resources.
- Ability to establish clear accountability, track consultant deliverables, and escalate issues diplomatically and effectively.
- Experience with healthcare Supply Chain, sourcing, contracting, or transformation initiatives strongly preferred.
- Comfortable working within existing organizational governance and project-management tools rather than introducing unnecessary processes.
- Able to work independently while respecting leadership decision rights and functional subject-matter expertise.
