About the Role
This is a contract Project Manager role embedded in the Canadian Pipeline Integrity team at a leading energy infrastructure organization. The team runs a high-velocity project cycle, taking integrity projects from early development all the way through to in-service, and they need someone who can own that full arc across multiple concurrent projects. The environment is fast-paced, the team culture is collaborative, and the work carries real operational and commercial weight.
The ideal candidate is a project manager who is comfortable holding the full project lifecycle, from feasibility and stakeholder engagement through construction oversight, post-construction monitoring, and continuous improvement. You bring at least one year of project management experience, you communicate clearly with both field and executive audiences, and you treat safety leadership as a core part of the job, not a checkbox.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full development and delivery lifecycle for pipeline integrity projects, from feasibility and alternative analysis through to in-service and post-construction monitoring
- Build and maintain comprehensive project plans covering scope, schedule, milestones, resource allocation, risk, change, procurement, safety, and construction management
- Engage stakeholders early and consistently to align on objectives, set expectations, incorporate feedback, and communicate progress and changes throughout the project
- Coordinate with regional contractor leads, Construction Management and Inspection resources, and Supply Chain to secure the right people, materials, and services at the right time
- Monitor and control project budgets, document and process all scope or cost changes, and keep expenditures within approved limits
- Champion safety culture on every project by leading safety discussions, supporting on-site construction activities, and reinforcing quality standards through audits and turnover documentation
- Track project performance, prepare formal progress reports, and address ad hoc leadership inquiries with accurate and timely information
- Contribute to multi-year portfolio planning by supporting scope development, cost estimation, risk identification, and process improvement feedback loops
Required Skills & Experience
- 1 or more year of project management experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage full project lifecycles from development through in-service
- Experience developing and maintaining project plans across multiple workstreams (scope, schedule, budget, risk, procurement, safety)
- Proficiency in stakeholder communication and change management
- Ability to work on-site in Calgary, AB
- Native or bilingual English proficiency
Preferred Skills
- Background in pipeline integrity, oil and gas, or energy infrastructure projects
- Experience working within a structured project delivery or operating model framework
- Familiarity with Supply Chain processes including RFPs, release orders, and purchase orders
- Exposure to regulatory and environmental commitment tracking in a Canadian context
- Experience managing multiple concurrent short-cycle projects
