Overview:
The Project Engineer I will play a key role in supporting project management activities. This entry-level position offers an excellent opportunity for growth and development within the structural steel erection industry. This position requires the willingness and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Planning and Coordination:
- Assist project managers in developing project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with project objectives and client requirements.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and subcontractors, to facilitate project execution and ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
Design Support and Review:
- Support the review and processing of RFIs, submittals, revisions, and change documentation.
Construction Oversight and Quality Assurance:
- Support field teams in resolving construction and installation challenges while maintaining project schedule and quality objectives.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate project documentation, including project files, drawings, specifications, correspondence, RFIs, submittals, and change orders, ensuring completeness, organization, and accessibility of project records.
- Prepare daily logs and document daily construction activities
- Prepare and distribute project reports, progress updates, and meeting minutes to project teams, stakeholders, and management, providing timely and relevant information on project status, issues, and risks.
- Assist with project closeout activities, including as-built documentation, punch list tracking, and turnover packages.
- Track project costs, schedules, procurement status, and material deliveries to support successful project execution.
Qualifications:
- Entry-level candidates or recent graduates are encouraged to apply; relevant internship or work experience in structural steel fabrication, steel erection, construction, or project engineering is preferred.
- Experience with structural steel fabrication, steel erection, steel detailing, connection design coordination, or structural steel construction is preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Bluebeam, Autodesk Construction Cloud, or similar construction management software is preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in both office and field environments.
- Must be willing and able to travel to project sites throughout the United States as required.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
