Gathers, analyzes, translates and delivers information in clear, concise and meaningful formats based on specific project and/or program requirements and according to established project management standards. Provides the project manager support and assistance in scheduling, documentation, communication and cost management. Updates the project plan. Assists in information collection and validations. Provides input to project research information. Facilitates collaborative documents and data stores. Helps prepare status reports and presentations. May coordinate the activities of a project sub team and/or project activities to the extent those efforts might affect completion of assigned tasks. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Must have strong knowledge of MS Office.
1. Explain what the scope of the work/project is? Project Overview, deliverables (what is this person responsible for).
The role supports multiple large wind farm construction projects (e.g., Lariat, Yellow House, Toke), each valued between ~$1.3Bβ$2B+.
The contractor will act as an Assistant Project Manager / project support role, not the primary PM.
Responsibilities include:
Supporting project execution during construction
Reviewing drawings and participating in design/construction meetings pre-build
Coordinating with internal teams (materials, sourcing, PMs)
Providing on-site oversight and helping resolve day-to-day issues
1. What are the top 3-5 skills and qualifications (technology/application/software, etc.) required?
Project management experience
Construction experience (strong preference)
Engineering background (preferred but not required)
On-site project experience (very important)
Wind/turbine experience (ideal but flexible)
2. What non-technical skills are necessary (i.e., such as communication, problem solving, team player)?
Strong communication (verbal & written)
Teamwork and collaboration
Problem solving
Ability to operate in dynamic construction environments
3. Ideal candidate background and how many years required?
Mid-level:
Project coordinators β assistant PMs β junior PMs
Experience may vary:
Open to less experienced candidates with relevant exposure
Backgrounds in:
Construction
Engineering
Industrial projects preferred over light commercial
4. Are there any specific companies you like to see on a candidate's resume?
Preference for candidates from:
Utility industry
Industrial construction environments
Wind or energy projects
5. Are there any certifications that the candidate must possess?
PMP certification (preferred, not required)
Having completed PMP process is valuable, even if not current
