Programmer Analyst/Configuration Specialist and Build Administrator

Location: Lansing, MI

Duration: 11 months (Hybrid)

Seeking for a Programmer Analyst to join our team as a contract resource. The specialist will manage and enhance Application Build and Release processes, focusing on automation to support continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) for testing activities. This role involves all phases of the Application Build process for applications Bridges.

Responsibilities:

• Manage source code control processes, including defining standards, software baselining, versioning, and performing problem analysis and resolution.
• Serve as the technical advisor and primary liaison with vendors and their technical teams.
• Act as the technical expert on performance-related issues for systems utilizing Build Automation, Configuration Management, and Version Management tools.
• Deploy new releases of application build, configuration, and version management software.
• Provide guidance and recommendations to development staff on project administration and management.
• Design and script automation workflows for efficient build and release operations.
• Monitor and optimize build pipeline performance to enhance reliability and productivity.
• Conduct root-cause analysis on build and deployment failures and implement corrective actions.

Other Desired Skills:

• Create and update process documentation for ADO and Bridges build processes.
• Perform build and deployment activities across multiple Bridges environments.
• Serve as ADO (Azure DevOps) Administrator for builds and deployments.
• Assess ADO and build-process issues for internal resolution or external support.
• Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., ClearCase, ClearQuest, Git/Bitbucket, Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps).
• Experience with build automation tools (Bamboo, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, Ant, etc.).
• Experience with version control tools (Git, Bitbucket, etc.).
• Experience with issue/work tracking systems (Jira, ADO Boards).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Perl, Shell, Python).

Required Skills:

• 10 years of experience in build automation, auditing, and administration of software configuration and version-management processes.
• 10 years of experience researching, evaluating, and recommending application software products related to configuration and version-management processes.
• 10 years of experience deploying new releases of application, configuration, and version-management software.
• 10 years of experience providing guidance and recommendations to development staff regarding project administration and management.
