Job Description

The ESB Platform Engineer is responsible for enabling, maintaining, and continuously improving ESB infrastructure capabilities, including Kafka, middleware, and containerized platforms. The role focuses on platform reliability, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and automation while collaborating with DevOps/SRE teams to support scalable, secure, and efficient enterprise integration services.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure and enable Kafka platform services, including topics, ACLs, replication, and security configurations.
• Support Kafka performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization.
• Develop and maintain deployment automation for ESB infrastructure components.
• Support Kubernetes-based infrastructure and middleware integration.
• Collaborate with DevOps/SRE on platform operations, incident resolution, and reliability improvements.
• Contribute to platform standards, configuration templates, and operational automation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in infrastructure engineering, platform engineering, or production system support.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka, including topic management, ACLs, security configuration, replication, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Linux/UNIX, and containerized application deployment.
• Knowledge of middleware and database technologies such as MongoDB, Redis, PostgreSQL, or Cassandra.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools, such as GitHub Actions.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools, including Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, or Kibana.
• Good understanding of networking, system integration, security, and performance optimization.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with development and DevOps/SRE teams.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in Kafka performance tuning, capacity planning, and high-availability architecture.
• Knowledge of API Gateway, Schema Registry, and event-driven architecture.
• Experience developing infrastructure automation and reusable configuration templates.
