Part-Time Work That Matters

At Community Access Unlimited (CAU), we help adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) live as independently as possible, in homes of their own and as part of their communities.

We're looking for caring, dependable people to join our team as part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs).You'll help the people we serve with daily routines, build their independence, and make sure every day at home is safe and positive.

Title:Direct Support Professional (DSP), Part-Time

Location:Union County, NJ

Pay:$20.57 per hour

Schedule:Part-time shifts available, including days, evenings, overnights, and weekends

What You'll Do

• Get to know the people you support and build trusting, supportive relationships.
• Help with daily living, including personal care, bathing, and hygiene
• Support grocery shopping, menu planning, and cooking.
• Drive people to medical appointments, work, recreation, and community events.
• Help plan and join social activities.
• Keep the home safe, clean, and organized, including taking part in fire drills.
• Complete required daily notes and paperwork accurately.
• Share updates with supervisors andfamilies, and help resolve concerns.
• Attend requiredtrainings and staff meetings.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the people we serve

What You Bring

• High school diploma or GEDrequired.
• Valid Basic Driver’s license with a clean driving record and car to use for work purposes.
• Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities is aplus, but notrequired.
• Ability to lift and help with physical tasks safely.
• Patience, empathy, andgood communication skills.
• Availability for requiredtrainings, which may fall outside your regular hours.
• Ability to pass required background checks, including fingerprinting.
