Program Manager Ⅲ , Production Planning Team

Production Planning Team (PPT) within Amazon Japan Operations is seeking a Program Manager to lead strategic production planning initiatives across our nationwide network.

Established in 2023, PPT is a strategic organization responsible for advancing production planning capabilities and network optimization across more than 100 Fulfillment Centers (FCs) and External Fulfillment (EF) sites in Japan.

As a Program Manager, you will own the end-to-end strategy and execution of production planning across the FC/EF network. This role goes beyond short-term labor and capacity alignment; you will design scalable, long-term mechanisms that optimize accuracy, productivity, and cost efficiency at network scale.

You will be expected to challenge existing processes constructively, operate effectively in ambiguous environments, and make data-driven decisions with high judgment. Success in this role requires strong analytical capability, strategic thinking, and the ability to influence senior cross-functional stakeholders to drive large-scale operational transformation.

Key job responsibilities
[Important responsibilities of the program manager]
Own the strategy and execution of labor optimization across the JP FC/EF network, ensuring the right balance between cost efficiency and customer experience (CX), while driving sustainable improvements across short-term (3 months), mid-term (6 months), and long-term (1–3 years) horizons.

Design, implement, and continuously improve scalable labor cost management mechanisms that enable both operational network expansion and structural cost efficiency.

Lead the alignment of labor cost management practices with global standards while ensuring effective localization to meet the specific needs of Japan operations.

Identify, evaluate, and adapt global best practices to improve productivity, planning accuracy, and operational efficiency across the Japan FC/EF network.

Drive cross-regional collaboration to scale successful practices developed in Japan to other regions and contribute to the evolution of global planning standards.

Influence senior stakeholders across operations, finance, and global teams through data-driven insights, enabling aligned decision-making and effective execution of strategic initiatives.

・ネットワークの拡大とコスト効率の両立を可能にする、スケーラブルなLabor Cost Managementの仕組みを設計・構築し、継続的な改善を行う。

・Labor Cost Managementにおけるグローバルスタンダードとの整合をリードするとともに、日本のオペレーション環境に適した形でのローカライズを推進する。

・海外のベストプラクティスを特定・評価し、日本のFC/EFネットワークに適用することで、生産性、計画精度、およびオペレーション効率の向上を推進する。

・日本で生まれた成功事例や新しいプランニングの仕組みをグローバルに展開し、グローバルな計画標準の発展に貢献する。

・データに基づく分析とインサイトを通じて、オペレーション、ファイナンス、およびグローバルチームのシニアステークホルダーに影響力を発揮し、戦略的な意思決定と施策の実行を推進する。

A day in the life
[Working style] ・Flextime ※ Standard working hours 8 hours/day and business hours is 9-18 (also consider personal circumstances). All business days are spent in the designated office or other company location.

This position works as a member of the PPT(Production Planning Team) within Amazon Japan's FNP team. Our team is in charge of a wide range of tasks, from short to long-term ranges, so that we can operate our ever-expanding Operation Network more efficiently, and we are making improvements day by day so that we can deliver products with a rich selection of products, sufficient inventory volume, and quick delivery speed to our customers. Basic qualifications

- Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Business Administration, Operations Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Business Level Japanese
- Business Level English

Preferred qualifications

- Experience working in an operations, supply chain, transportation, project management or management consulting role
