Location: Culver City, CA 90232 (Hybrid)
Duration: 6 Months Contract
Responsibilities:
- Support new programs in development by establishing quality systems, measurement methods, and analyzing build results to ensure products meet the design specifications.
- Analyze build data in order to confirm process capability and identify areas that require attention from Product Design and Process Engineering.
- Lead a cross-functional team across time zones to resolve issues through data driven Failure Analysis and Corrective Action (FACA).
- Establish new methods for monitoring and reporting status, including Incoming Quality Control (IQC), Outgoing Quality Control (OQC), and Ongoing Reliability Testing (ORT).
- Implement best practices and learnings across manufacturing sites and products.
- Succinctly communicate key updates to senior management and the executive team.
Target Qualifications:
- Technical degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, or Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
- High volume manufacturing experience with a detailed understanding of advanced product quality planning, production processes, testing, kitting, and packaging (e.g., consumer electronics, automotive, medical devices, etc.).
- Proficiency in GD&T, metrology, and measurement equipment and techniques.
- Experience with statistical techniques including SPC, sampling AQLs, measurement system analysis (GR&R), process capability (Cpk).
- Ability to discern different degrees of cosmetic defects in order to establish cosmetic specifications with Product Design.
- Problem-solving skills utilizing quality tools and capable of identifying the root cause of challenging problems and implementing corrective actions with stringent deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in JMP and/or Minitab, including statistical analysis, SPC, regression, process capability, and visualization.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage and drive issues to closure.
- Knowledge of Quality Systems, Design of Experiments, Reliability Methods/Models.
- Experience with using AI/ML tools to assist in data analysis and building new tools to simplify workflows.
- Experience with automated inspection systems.
