Central Operations (Ops) JP is looking for an experienced Program Manager with a strong record of achieving results, to own and execute the Program Standardization, Tech Intake, Tool Inventory, and OP1/2 & XBR strategy for the Central Operations Standardization and Cost Out (COSC) team. The COSC team is dedicated to driving operational excellence across Central Operations by establishing robust mechanisms, delivering data-driven insights, and accelerating high-impact programs.

You will own the mechanisms that govern how CO plans, executes, and pays for its programs — from the one-stop program intake and standardization process, to tech request centralization, tool inventory management, and OP1/2 & XBR review cadences. You will solve this by redesigning the program management tooling, elevating update quality from task-level to project-level, and establishing CO as a formal chain in the ACES catalyst review process.

You will work cross-functionally and across geographies with stakeholders at senior levels to understand, implement, and improve program governance and tech intake mechanisms. This role offers the opportunity to partner closely with multiple functions and teams including program management, ACES, delivery station operations, last mile tech, planning, routing, network optimization, and more in Amazon Logistics (AMZL). Such exposure and collaboration with a variety of teams allow opportunities for further career growth within Amazon and beyond.

At Amazon, you'll work alongside the latest AI and GenAI tools that are increasingly woven into how teams operate: from AI-powered capabilities that accelerate decision-making, to Generative AI that helps you focus on work that truly matters. You'll have opportunities and resources to develop AI fluency at your own pace, with continuous learning built into the culture.

Key job responsibilities
- Own and continuously improve the CO one-stop program intake and standardization mechanism: redesign the ASANA-based intake to manage programs at project level under portfolios, ensuring it serves as the single source of truth for all CO program reviews
- Introduce mechanisms (dashboards, newsletters) to measure program update frequency and quality, driving accountability for who-does-what-by-when documentation, entitlement inclusion, and one-pager completion
- Establish CO as a formal chain in the ACES catalyst request review process, implementing internal governance for correct request assignment and clear POC mechanisms
- Centralize and single-thread all tech requests from CO to external tech teams: eliminate duplicate asks, improve request quality, provide advisory on the right tech team, and track OP1/2-level requests to ensure clear ATL/BTL outcomes
- Build and maintain the tool inventory management system for CO's ~200 scrappy tools: document what they are, why they exist, upstream/downstream impact, and create a tracking system to ensure safe usage while seeking opportunities to eliminate or migrate
- Lead OP1/2 planning and XBR review mechanisms: introduce a yearly calendar of operation routines and planning seasons to balance team bandwidth between daily operations and strategic planning
- Scale services, tools, and processes that will enable network growth in volume, complexity, and geographic expansion while maintaining the highest bar for the customer experience

A day in the life
You lead the weekly program intake grooming session, reviewing new proposals with function owners and making approve/not-approve decisions based on standardized criteria. You coordinate with the ACES catalyst team to implement CO's chain in the review process, ensuring requests are correctly routed and no CO-impacting changes slip through without proper review. You deep-dive into the tool inventory, investigating a scrappy routing tool that broke due to an upstream UI change, and documenting the upstream/downstream dependencies to prevent recurrence. You challenge the status quo by proposing a consolidated tech request dashboard that gives tech partners a single, prioritized view of CO's needs. You plan the OP1 timeline, balancing the team's operational firefighting with the need for forward-looking strategic planning. You will continuously find new problems to solve and be required to partner with teams across Japan and the globe to deliver for our customers.
