Job Title: Pharmacy Technician
Department:Outpatient Pharmacy                Â
Location: Â Unity Hospital - Park Ridge Apothecary
Hours Per Week:40 hours/full time
Schedule:Â Monday thru Friday, day & evening shifts and occasional Saturday
Key Responsibilities:
Medication Preparation & Delivery. Process and prepare medication orders by repackaging bulk medication into individual size packages; round to floors in an accurate and timely manner to deliver medication; add measured drugs or nutrients to intravenous solutions under sterile conditions
Documentation & Reporting. Ensure concise, pertinent and complete patient care documentation using EMR system (Electronic Medical Record); use pharmacy information system to run reports and access medication data; receive and store incoming supplies and verify quantities
Maintenance & Sterilization. Clean and maintain the repackaging machine after use; non-sterile compounding and prepare oral liquids, creams and ointments in a clean environment; measure and combine medication accurately with proper documentation; ensure proper disposal of medicationÂ
Preferred Skills:
One (1) year of work experience in a clinical, retail or healthcare setting required
Exceptional attention to detail, documentation skills and professional behavior
Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsÂ
Minimum Qualifications:
- None - willing to train.
RequiredLicensure/Certification:
- National Pharmacy Certification required within 18 months of hire.
- If hired prior to November 1, 2020, National Pharmacy Certification is required by February 28, 2022.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Moderate - Clinical - Moderate clinical roles are patient facing roles that require continual movement, including standing, walking, and lifting 20–50 lbs., along with pushing and pulling medical equipment and assisting with patient positioning. Employees perform frequent bending, twisting, and reaching while completing fine motor tasks in busy or confined clinical environments. High sensory acuity is essential for monitoring patient status and responding to alarms or safety concerns. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation. TB testing, mask-fit testing, and physical exams are common requirements.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
