The role manages classroom and lab learning, maintains technical and instructional readiness, and supports the transfer of learning to the manufacturing floor.
  • The Success Coach will observe work, provide timely coaching, identify skill gaps, partner with line leadership on development plans, and reinforce safety, quality, standard work and 6S practices. The successful candidate combines credible manufacturing experience with strong facilitation, communication and coaching skills.
  • Technical Trainer / Instructor
  • Deliver standard and moderately customized Workmanship Standards and related onboarding courses using approved materials, demonstrations, hands-on practice and knowledge checks.
  • Manage classroom and laboratory activities so that course objectives, safety requirements and learner participation expectations are met.
  • Explain technical information clearly to employees with varied experience levels and adapt facilitation methods while preserving approved standards and procedures.
  • Maintain the technical knowledge, instructor qualifications and course certifications required to deliver assigned content; support certification of learners or other instructors when authorized.
  • Prepare classrooms, labs, tools, equipment and training systems for instruction; verify readiness and escalate safety, maintenance or documentation concerns.
  • Create, revise or augment training materials, job aids and teaching media with guidance from GMTI and in collaboration with Engineering, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Safety and business-unit subject matter experts.
  • Observe technical work, interview knowledgeable personnel and review technical documentation to understand operating procedures, production sequence and workmanship requirements.
  • Recommend updates to published training materials and Best Known Methods when gaps, changes or opportunities are identified through approved review processes.
  • Communicate with business partners to obtain current product and process information and represent GMTI in routine working sessions related to assigned training.
  • Maintain accurate training records and provide concise status, learner-progress and issue reporting using approved systems and processes.
  • Success Coach
  • Provide structured on-the-floor coaching and on-the-job learning support for new hires as they apply standard procedures, Workmanship Standards and safety expectations.
  • Observe employee performance against approved standard work, provide specific and timely feedback, and reinforce safe, high-quality execution without replacing the accountability of line leadership.
  • Identify skill gaps and training needs using approved On-the-Job and assessment methods.
  • Partner with line leads and supervisors to develop practical training and coaching plans that support efficient skill development and time to contribution during the first twelve weeks on the manufacturing floor.
  • Conduct and document workmanship observations; identify recurring themes or trends and communicate them through approved channels to GMTI and Operations stakeholders.
  • Reinforce 6S practices and recommend Best Known Practices that improve safety, quality, flow and workplace efficiency.
  • Coach across multiple business units as assigned, maintain tact and diplomacy, and escalate safety, quality or documentation issues promptly.
  • Support product build or test activities within demonstrated qualifications when business needs warrant and when doing so supports learning or operational continuity.
  • Role Outcomes
  • Consistent, engaging delivery of approved Workmanship Standards onboarding content.
  • New hires receive timely reinforcement and practical coaching as they transition from training to the floor.
  • Safety, quality, standard work and 6S expectations are modeled and reinforced in both training and production environments.
  • Learner progress, skill gaps and recurring workmanship themes are visible to the appropriate GMTI and Operations stakeholders.
  • Training content remains aligned with current approved procedures, documentation and business needs.

  • Ability to use standard digital productivity, learning, documentation and reporting tools required by the assignment.
  • Ability to work independently within defined procedures, exercise sound judgment and collaborate across functions.
  • Experience delivering Workmanship Standards, assembly, test, logistics, safety, quality or related manufacturing training.
  • Experience with instructional design, course maintenance, job aids, OJT programs, learner assessment or train-the-trainer activities.
