Position summary

Senior Quality Engineer Product, Korea is ON.energy's on-the-ground quality representative for equipment built in Korea. You verify that each unit meets approved drawings, specifications, and acceptance criteria from manufacturing and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) through shipment, delivery, installation, and commissioning.

You will work with Engineering, Supply Chain, Construction, Commissioning, and the Supplier Quality Engineer, Korea. Equipment in scope includes transformers, batteries, PCS/inverters, switchgear and ATS, control cabinets, and auxiliary equipment.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and perform in-process, final, and pre-shipment inspections at supplier facilities. Verify workmanship, dimensions, assembly, wiring, labeling, and compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Review Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), FAT procedures, and acceptance criteria with Engineering. Confirm hold points, witness points, test readiness, and inspection coverage.
• Coordinate and witness FATs at OEM facilities. Perform assigned inspections within your training and authorization, verify test records and equipment calibration, and document results and deviations.
• Identify, document, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and punch-list items. Coordinate containment, repair or rework, reinspection, and retesting with suppliers and internal teams.
• Hand off recurring or systemic defects to the Supplier Quality Engineer for supplier root-cause analysis and corrective action.
• Verify corrective actions and closure evidence before shipment. Escalate unresolved issues and give shipment-readiness recommendations to the designated release authority.
• Review serial-number traceability, material certificates, inspection reports, FAT results, and certificates of conformity. Maintain complete, traceable equipment quality packages for each project.
• Support receiving inspections, installation surveillance, Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), and commissioning readiness at project sites as assigned. Investigate transit damage and equipment defects.
• Provide timely inspection reports and quality status updates, and flag risks to FAT and delivery commitments.
• Provide product inspection and NCR data as input to supplier scorecards.
• Follow site safety rules and approved procedures during all inspections and testing, including supplier and site safety training.

Must have qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Quality Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
• 3–7 years of product, manufacturing, inspection, or field quality engineering experience in energy, electrical power equipment, or industrial manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience inspecting electrical power equipment and witnessing factory acceptance tests, and evaluating results against approved procedures and acceptance criteria.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, equipment specifications, and ITPs.
• Experience managing NCRs, punch lists, reinspection, retesting, and quality documentation packages.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 and quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, and first article inspection.
• Ability to work independently at supplier facilities, prioritize inspections, and communicate quality risks clearly to suppliers and cross-functional teams.
• Professional working proficiency in Korean and English, including technical discussions and written inspection reports.
• Willingness to travel up to 75%, mainly to supplier facilities in South Korea, with international travel as required.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with BESS equipment, medium-voltage transformers, PCS/inverters, switchgear, or integrated power equipment, including work with Korean OEMs.
• Korean national technical licenses such as 전기기사 (Electrical Engineer) or 품질경영기사 (Quality Management Engineer).
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Inspector (CQI).
• Familiarity with IEC, IEEE, UL, and NEC requirements and equipment test protocols for the project market, plus KS/KC standards used by Korean suppliers.
• Experience supporting installation, SAT, and commissioning of electrical power equipment.
• Experience with digital inspection platforms, document-control systems, NCR tracking tools, and quality dashboards.

• 부적합 보고서(NCR) 및 펀치리스트 발행·추적, 봉쇄조치·수리·재작업·재검사·재시험 조율
• 반복·구조적 결함을 Supplier Quality Engineer에게 이관하여 협력사 근본원인 분석 및 시정조치 진행
• 출하 전 시정조치 및 종결 증빙 검증, 미해결 사항 에스컬레이션 및 출하 승인권자에게 출하 가능 여부 권고
• 시리얼 추적성, 재료 성적서, 검사 보고서, FAT 결과, 적합성 인증서 검토 및 프로젝트별 설비 품질 문서 관리
• 현장 입고검사, 설치 감리, 현장인수시험(SAT), 시운전 준비 지원 및 운송 손상·설비 결함 조사
• 검사 보고서 및 품질 현황 적시 보고, FAT·납기 리스크 공유
• 협력사 평가표에 반영할 제품 검사 및 NCR 데이터 제공
• 모든 검사·시험 시 현장 안전수칙 및 승인 절차 준수 (협력사·현장 안전교육 포함)

자격 요건

• 전기, 기계, 산업, 품질공학 또는 관련 분야 학사 이상
• 에너지, 전력기기, 산업 제조 분야 제품·제조·검사·현장 품질 경력 3–7년
• 전력기기 검사 및 FAT 입회, 승인 절차·합격 기준 대비 결과 평가 실무 경험
• 전기 회로도, 기계 도면, 사양서, ITP 해독 능력
• NCR, 펀치리스트, 재검사·재시험, 품질 문서 패키지 관리 경험
• ISO 9001 및 8D, 5 Why, 초도품 검사(FAI) 등 품질 도구 실무 지식
• 협력사 현장에서 독립적으로 업무를 수행하고, 검사 우선순위를 정하며, 품질 리스크를 명확히 전달하는 능력
