Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Product Quality Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, functionality, and performance of software products. The ideal candidate should have experience in manual and automation testing, product validation, defect management, and end-to-end quality assurance. The candidate will work closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet business requirements and customer expectations.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Understand product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to define effective testing strategies.

• Design, develop, and execute test plans, test cases, and test scenarios.

• Perform functional, regression, integration, smoke, and end-to-end testing.

• Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Selenium WebDriver with Java and Playwright.

• Validate product workflows, business logic, user interfaces, and data integrity.

• Perform API testing to validate endpoints, request and response payloads, and integrations.

• Identify, document, track, and verify defects using Jira or similar tools.

• Conduct root cause analysis for product defects and recurring quality issues.

• Perform database testing and data validation using SQL queries.

• Execute performance and load testing using Apache JMeter.

• Validate product behavior across browsers, devices, and supported environments.

• Collaborate with development, product management, design, and support teams to resolve quality issues.

• Participate in requirement reviews, sprint planning, release planning, and retrospectives.

• Conduct exploratory testing to identify edge cases and potential product risks.

• Monitor product quality metrics, test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.

• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and production issue investigations.

• Recommend improvements to testing processes, automation coverage, and overall product quality.

Required Technical Skills

• Manual Testing: Functional, Regression, Smoke, Integration, Exploratory Testing

• Automation Testing: Selenium WebDriver, Playwright

• Programming: Java, JavaScript, or Python

• Test Frameworks: TestNG, JUnit, Page Object Model

• API Testing: Postman, REST Assured

• Performance Testing: Apache JMeter

• Database Testing: SQL queries, joins, data validation

• Defect Management: Jira, Azure DevOps, or similar tools

• CI/CD: Jenkins, GitHub Actions

• Version Control: Git, GitHub, Bitbucket

• Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, SDLC, STLC

• Documentation: Test plans, test cases, defect reports, test execution reports

Preferred Skills

• Experience in testing SaaS products and web-based applications.

• Knowledge of product lifecycle management and release validation.

• Experience validating complex workflows and third-party integrations.

• Understanding of application logs, monitoring tools, and root cause analysis.

• Familiarity with cloud environments and cross-browser testing.

• Experience with AI-powered testing tools and coding assistants such as Cursor or Claude.

• Knowledge of security, usability, accessibility, and reliability testing.

• Ability to analyze customer-reported issues and translate them into reproducible test scenarios.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

• Relevant experience in software quality assurance, product testing, or test automation.
