Job Description:
- The Senior Product Manager is a key member of the Nordstrom Product Management team, responsible for supporting enterprise data and analytics for Finance and key strategic business stakeholders. This role owns the Finance domain's Business Ready Dataset (BRD) roadmap, partnering with Finance leadership, Engineering, and business partners to deliver trusted, certified data products that Finance teams can act on with confidence.
- Own the Finance domain Business Ready Dataset (BRD) roadmap within Nordstrom's enterprise data and analytics space, prioritizing certified datasets that unlock self-service analytics for Finance stakeholders.
- Lead the migration of legacy Finance reporting to a modern, governed self-service BI platform, articulating value to Finance leadership and securing executive alignment.
- Develop the product roadmap and group work into releasable, domain-specific features, sequencing dataset certification and partnering with stakeholders on dashboard migration work.
- Lead discovery with Finance business partners and analysts to identify certified metric definitions and synthesize findings into BRD requirements.
- Partner closely with Data Engineering, Data Governance, and Analytics Enablement teams to keep delivery unblocked across dependencies.
- Drive progress against program-level KPIs for the Finance domain, including dataset certification rate, self-service adoption, and retired legacy reports, while proactively managing risk and communicating impact to stakeholders.
- Represent the Finance domain in enterprise program governance and workstream rhythms, ensuring cross-domain alignment on standards and timelines.
- Own business requirement gathering and acceptance criteria, partnering with key business and engineering stakeholders to drive cross-functional understanding and alignment.
- 6+ years of experience in Product Management, including experience with financial or enterprise planning data products.
- Demonstrated experience managing a data or analytics product through a platform migration.
- Practical experience with Oracle, Google Cloud Platform, and Looker or comparable enterprise systems.
- Proficiency in data analysis and defining performance/adoption metrics for a data product.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including experience presenting to Finance executive stakeholders.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Google Cloud Platform (GCP) / BigQuery experience.
- Looker / LookML experience.
- Behavioral evidence of ownership: Ability to describe specific situations personally navigated, decisions made, and outcomes achieved.
- Product thinking over technical implementation: Defines objectives and outcomes first, with tooling, architecture, and technical mechanics following the product strategy.
- Influence without authority: Builds cross-team alignment by understanding stakeholder requirements rather than relying on escalation or top-down mandates.
- End-to-end requirements discipline: Carries use cases through requirements, testing strategy, and defect handling, recognizing defects as potential signals of requirements gaps.
- Cross-functional range with analytics partners: Demonstrated experience partnering directly with downstream analytics teams, not only business stakeholders on reporting needs.
Interviews process: 2 Rounds - 1. Manager Screen - 2. Behavioral Conflict Resolution and how to drive movement on the team.
