Position Summary
The Product Manager will have end-to-end product responsibility for Stages' bike portfolio, including consumer and commercial bikes. This role will define product strategy, develop the product roadmap, identify market opportunities, and lead cross-functional teams from concept through launch and ongoing lifecycle management.
The ideal candidate combines strong product management skills with a passion for cycling and fitness and understands how to translate customer needs, market trends, competitive intelligence, technology, and business objectives into compelling products.
This is a highly collaborative role working closely with Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, and our global Giant Group partners.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Own the product strategy and multi-year roadmap for the Stages bike portfolio across consumer and commercial segments.
- Define product vision, positioning, target customers, key features, and value propositions.
- Identify and prioritize new product opportunities based on market trends, customer needs, competitive analysis, technology, and business strategy.
- Develop product plans that balance customer value, innovation, quality, cost, timing, and business objectives.
- Establish clear product priorities and communicate roadmap decisions across the organization.
- Partner with leadership to align the bike portfolio with Stages' overall business and growth strategy.
Product Development & Launch
- Lead cross-functional product development initiatives from concept through commercialization.
- Develop product requirements, specifications, business cases, and product briefs.
- Partner with Engineering and Design to translate product requirements into effective product solutions.
- Work closely with global development and manufacturing teams to ensure products meet customer, quality, cost, and timing expectations.
- Coordinate product launch readiness across Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and Customer Service.
- Develop launch plans, product positioning, pricing recommendations, and key product messaging in partnership with Marketing and Sales.
- Monitor product performance following launch and identify opportunities for improvement.
Portfolio & Lifecycle Management
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including new product introduction, portfolio optimization, product enhancements, and end-of-life decisions.
- Analyze product performance and make recommendations regarding pricing, features, positioning, inventory, and portfolio rationalization.
- Identify opportunities to improve product profitability and gross margin.
- Maintain a clear understanding of product costs, pricing, margins, volumes, and financial performance.
- Develop recommendations for product refreshes, upgrades, and next-generation products.
Market & Customer Insights
- Develop a deep understanding of consumer cyclists, fitness enthusiasts, commercial fitness operators, dealers, distributors, and other key customers.
- Conduct market and competitive research to identify emerging trends, customer needs, and opportunities.
- Gather and synthesize customer feedback from Sales, Customer Service, dealers, distributors, commercial customers, and direct consumer channels.
- Monitor competitive products, pricing, technology, features, and positioning.
- Translate market insights into actionable product strategies and development priorities.
Commercial & Business Management
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to develop go-to-market strategies for consumer and commercial products.
- Support pricing strategy and product-level financial analysis.
- Evaluate product business cases, including revenue opportunity, development investment, cost, margin, and expected return.
- Track product and portfolio performance against revenue, volume, margin, and other key business objectives.
- Support sales teams with product knowledge, competitive positioning, product training, and customer presentations.
- Partner with commercial teams to identify opportunities for product customization or solutions for key accounts.
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Serve as the primary product owner and internal subject-matter expert for the Stages bike portfolio.
- Lead cross-functional meetings and maintain alignment on product priorities, decisions, timelines, and risks.
- Influence teams and stakeholders across the organization without direct authority.
- Communicate product strategy and priorities effectively to executive leadership and global partners.
- Build strong working relationships with Giant Group teams and international stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
- Passion for cycling, fitness, and/or sports technology
- Demonstrated experience taking products from concept through launch and managing products throughout their lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of product strategy, market research, competitive analysis, pricing, and financial modeling.
- Experience working cross-functionally with Engineering, Design, Manufacturing, Sales, Marketing, and Operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-informed decisions.
- Excellent project leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams without direct authority.
- Strong business acumen and understanding of product profitability and P&L drivers.
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of product management, product development, category management, or related experience, preferably within cycling, fitness, sporting goods, consumer products, or another technology-driven industry.
- Experience with bicycles, indoor cycling, fitness equipment, connected fitness, or sporting goods.
- Experience managing both B2C and B2B/commercial products.
- Experience working with international teams, suppliers, manufacturers, or distribution partners.
- Familiarity with product development processes, including hardware development and manufacturing.
- Experience with product lifecycle management and portfolio strategy.
- Experience using customer research, sales data, market data, and financial analysis to inform product decisions.
- Active cyclist or strong knowledge of the cycling industry and consumer cycling market.
Key Success Measures
Success in this role will be measured by the ability to:

- Deliver new products and product improvements on time and within agreed business objectives.
- Grow bike revenue and improve product portfolio profitability.
- Increase customer and market relevance of the Stages bike portfolio.

- Build strong relationships with customers, commercial partners, dealers, and internal stakeholders.
This role will require up to 25% of travelling domestically and internationally.
