Skills Required:

Analytical β Being able to carefully examine data or breaking down a problem into smaller parts 2. Problem Solving β Be able to take a problem and use a structured problem-solving process, i.e. DMAIC, to solve. 3. Test Planning β Develop a test plan to solve the problem being worked or come up with DOE to test multiple changes 4. Data Acquisition β Develop data acquisition lists and record data using appropriate acquisition software 5. Data Analysis β Plot data appropriately to draw conclusions and make appropriate decisions 6. Data Integrity β Verify that data is valid, sample rate, alignment and values are reasonable for the range expected for the parameter 7. Data Management β Develop a naming convention and storage system that allows others to be able to easily find files 8. Technical Communication β Be able to speak with co-workers on the technical topics being worked on (aftertreatment and emissions) 9. Technical Documentation β Be able to take the data and put into various documents (spreadsheets and powerpoints) to communicate the testing done, findings and next steps. 10. Calibration β Evaluate data to and develop changes to the engine emissions calibration to reduce the tailpipe emissions and optimize aftertreatment performance. 11. Testing β Execute a pre-defined test plan
Experience Required:
β’ BS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering β’ 3+ years of experience in emissions and emissions testing β’ 3+ years demonstrating a fundamental understanding of internal combustion engine function β’ Solid understanding of emissions regulations, certification process, and technologies that are effective in reducing emissions β’ Advanced problem-solving skills. β’ Strong leadership skills, passion for quality, passion for customer β inherent self-starter with strong drive for results β’ High technical aptitude β’ Ability to manage/resolve challenging complex issues. β’ Strong skills in project planning and management β must have experience in managing large complex projects. β’ Strong oral/written communication skills to lead group projects, issue resolution, and management reviews.
Experience Preferred:
β’ MS in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering β’ 5+ years of experience in emissions and emissions testing β’ 5+ years demonstrating a fundamental understanding of internal combustion engine function β’ 5+ years of Product Development experience which includes processing and delivering of programs from concept through production β’ 5+ years demonstrating ability to analyze, plan, and solve sophisticated system problems as they relate to engine and emissions
Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree
