If you’re looking for a place where your work matters, your ideas are heard, and your growth is taken seriously, you’ll feel at home at Genesis.Â
Â
The OpportunityÂ
We’re looking for a Product Engineer to help design and develop cabinetry and other wood-based components for the RV industry.Â
This isn’t an engineering role where you’ll spend your entire day behind a screen. You’ll take products from concept through production — creating detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, developing CNC tool paths, building and evaluating prototypes, and working directly with manufacturing to make sure your designs perform in the real world.Â
You’ll move between the CAD workstation, CNC router, shop floor, customers, and vendors while working alongside other engineers and cross-functional teams to bring new products to life and continuously improve the way our existing products are engineered and manufactured.Â
If you enjoy solving problems, getting hands-on with your designs, and seeing something you engineered become a finished product, this could be a great fit.
Â
What You’ll DoÂ
- Design and develop new and existing cabinetry and wood-based products for RV applicationsÂ
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and 2D specification drawings, with a strong emphasis on manufacturabilityÂ
- Develop CNC tool-path programs and program/operate CNC routersÂ
- Coordinate prototype and production sample builds — and jump in to execute builds yourself when neededÂ
- Partner closely with manufacturing to ensure parts are fabricated and assembled according to design intentÂ
- Work directly with customers to understand product needs, support new programs, and develop engineering solutionsÂ
- Provide technical input for product quotes and collaborate with vendors on engineering changesÂ
- Evaluate proposed product and engineering changes for feasibility, manufacturability, and overall impact before implementationÂ
- Inspect finished components to verify compliance with drawings and design specificationsÂ
- Develop and continuously improve engineering standards, procedures, and technical documentationÂ
- Collaborate with fellow engineers and cross-functional partners to execute large and complex projectsÂ
- Troubleshoot product and manufacturing challenges and help drive practical solutions from concept through productionÂ
- Perform other duties as assignedÂ
Qualifications
What You’ll BringÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering fieldÂ
- 2-3 years of relevant product, design, or manufacturing engineering experienceÂ
- Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling; Autodesk Inventor strongly preferred, with SolidWorks experience also consideredÂ
- Experience with CNC router programming; AlphaCAM strongly preferredÂ
- Ability to read, create, and interpret technical drawings, shop drawings, and production ordersÂ
- Working knowledge of AutoCAD 2D design softwareÂ
- Understanding of wood, composite, or similar manufacturing processesÂ
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a hands-on approach to solving product and manufacturing challengesÂ
- Ability to use calipers and other precision measuring instrumentsÂ
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentÂ
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, manufacturing, vendors, and customersÂ
Â
What Will Make You Stand OutÂ
- Experience engineering cabinetry, casework, millwork, furniture, or other wood-based productsÂ
- Hands-on experience programming and operating CNC routersÂ
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor and AlphaCAMÂ
- Experience supporting products from initial concept and prototyping through full-scale manufacturingÂ
- Experience working directly with customers in an engineering or product-development capacityÂ
- Experience within the RV, transportation, cabinetry, furniture, or related manufacturing industriesÂ
Â
Why You’ll Love Working HereÂ
- Competitive compensation – Salary rates that meet or exceed local market standardsÂ
- Health coverage (medical, dental & vision) – Comprehensive benefits available from day oneÂ
- 401(k) – Employee contributions begin day one; company match eligibility after 6 monthsÂ
