The Opportunity

We are seeking an experiencedProduct Development Specialist – Medical Nutrition to join a manufacturing organization in Ayer, Massachusetts.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-onFood Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, or Product

Development professional with experience developing and optimizing nutritional products.

In this role, you will contribute to the development ofmedical nutrition beverages and powder formulations, from formulation and testing through stability, scale-up, and commercialization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimizemedical nutrition beverage and powder formulations.

• Conduct hands-on formulation, testing, troubleshooting, and sensory evaluation.

• Evaluate ingredients for functionality, nutritional performance, stability, and regulatory compliance.

• Conduct and supportshelf-life and stability studies.

• Collaborate with Medical Nutrition, R&D, Marketing, Sales, and Manufacturing teams.

• Support the development of clinical evidence for new and existing products.

• Research and evaluate new ingredients and opportunities in medical nutrition.

• Provide technical support throughout product development, scale-up, and commercialization.

• Manage relationships with ingredient and raw material suppliers.

• Support intellectual property initiatives related to products, processes, and ingredients.

• Ensure compliance withGMP, food safety, and FDA requirements.

• Contribute to continuous improvement and new product development initiatives.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree inFood Science, Nutrition, Food Technology, or a related field.

• Master’s degree preferred; PhD or PharmD is a plus.

• 5+ years of hands-on product development experience in food, beverage, nutrition, supplements, nutraceuticals, or a related industry.

• Proven experience withbench-level formulation, testing, and troubleshooting.

• Strong knowledge of ingredient functionality, processing impacts, and nutrient stability.

• Experience conducting or supportingshelf-life and stability studies.

• Knowledge ofGMPs and FDA regulations.

• Experience developing beverage and/or powder formulations is strongly preferred.

• Understanding of sensory evaluation, scale-up, and commercialization processes.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills.

• Experience working collaboratively across R&D, manufacturing, regulatory, and commercial teams.

• Familiarity withPLM and nutritional formulation/analysis software is a plus.
