We're looking for aProduct Development Senior Specialist to join Nasdaq's Market Services team and play a key role in modernizing the technology that supports global financial markets. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of product, technology, and business. You'll collaborate with engineers, architects, operations teams, and business stakeholders to improve critical applications, define product requirements, and help deliver modernization initiatives that enhance how Nasdaq serves its customers.

A large part of your work will focus on supporting strategic cloud transformation efforts, helping bring legacy functionality into modern customer-facing applications and API-driven solutions. You'll gain deep exposure to Nasdaq's market operations, membership services, and compliance processes while helping shape the next generation of technology that powers them.

This role will support our Trade Support teams by enhancing a cloud-based application that provides Nasdaq with a comprehensive view of orders and trades, along with the ability to manage orders, process post-trade adjustments, and oversee trading activity across multiple markets and asset classes.

If you're naturally curious, eager to learn about market structure, enjoy collaborating with technical teams, and thrive on tackling complex challenges, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Deeply learn 1-2 legacy applications in terms of user navigation, core use cases and basic underlying architecture.
  • Own and maintain product backlogs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements to support business and technology priorities.
  • Translate business processes and operational needs into clear, detailed technical requirements that drive development and delivery.
  • Support the modernization of business-critical applications, helping migrate functionality into cloud-based and customer-facing platforms.
  • Work closely with development teams to define APIs, integrations, workflows, and future-state solutions.
  • Lead and participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stakeholder reviews, and quarterly planning activities.
  • Develop expertise in Nasdaq's market operations, membership services, and compliance processes to help shape product decisions and business outcomes.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and automation opportunities to accelerate analysis, documentation, backlog management, and delivery activities.
  • Support production issue management and collaborate with teams to continuously improve application performance and operational efficiency.
  • Work with global teams across North America and Europe to deliver technology solutions that make a meaningful impact.

What You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Business Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Product Development, Business Analysis, Software Delivery, or a related technology-focused role.
  • A background that includes exposure to data analysis, reporting or basic SQL is preferred and will help you succeed in the position.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments and managing product backlogs through tools such as Jira.
  • Proven ability to write high-quality user stories, acceptance criteria, business requirements, and technical specifications.
  • Strong understanding of software development processes, APIs, integrations, application architectures, and data flows.
  • Experience partnering directly with software engineers and technical teams to deliver complex solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A passion for learning new technologies, products, and business domains.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in financial services, fintech, capital markets, exchange technology, or market infrastructure environments.
  • Experience supporting large-scale modernization programs, cloud migrations, or digital transformation initiatives.
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies and modern software delivery practices.
  • Experience using AI-enabled development tools and agentic workflows such as GitHub Copilot, Claude, AWS Kiro, or similar solutions.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, Power BI, Figma, and CI/CD practices.
  • Professional certifications such as CSPO, CSM, AWS Cloud Practitioner, or similar credentials.

This position is located in Philadelphia and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
