Location: Beaverton, OR
Duration: 06 months
Hybrid: Mon – Thurs onsite, Fri remote

Job Description:

• On-site role at PHK; typical work hours, 4/1 hybrid schedule
• Contract is to support leave coverage, will run ~6 mos from start
• Degree preferred, not a hard requirement
• 10 years’ experience in footwear design preferred

Skills that would make a candidate stand out:

• 3D rendering skills
• Prior client experience (or similar experience with a competitor)
• Consumer/market acumen

Additional Skills:

• ETW will be working closely with color teams, developers, merchandisers, project managers, and others on all cleated footwear product (training, golf footwear, etc.)
• Portfolios required with all submissions
• 1-2 rounds of interviews preferred

Responsibilities:

• The nature of the work is focused on research and development of products from conception to retail to meet the needs of accounts and consumers.
• Ideation & Visioning - Generates new ways of thinking about aspects of performance based products that result in growth opportunities and competitive advantages in the marketplace.
• Develops ideas that are consistent with the vision for new products by collaborating with product creation on the genesis of new product concepts for all business units.
• Research/Engineering - defines protocol and establishes scope of testing required to prove and validate a concept. In line with advanced knowledge of the consumer, business, and performance requirements, develops concrete insights which feed into the development of advanced product concepts through the use of new technologies or construction processes.
• Delivers proof of concept by turning concepts and new product visions into reality.
• Identifies key elements of product construction materials and processes. Engineers prototypes.
• Project Management - Leads innovation projects turning concept ideation into reality by working in, or with, multi-disciplinary teams to include product creation, manufacturing, and 3rd party vendors.
• Meets complex challenges with imaginative state of the art approaches supported by feasible solutions.
• Communication- synthesis reports and creates final documentation to inform and educate internal stakeholders regarding new innovations. Is recognized externally as an industry expert.
• Clearly and concisely communicates the knowledge required and best practices to assist transition of technology to product.
• Typically requires a Bachelors Degree and minimum of 10 years directly relevant experience; experience should include comprehensive experience as a business/process leader or industry expert Note: One of the following alternatives may be accepted: - PhD or Law 8 yrs; Masters 9 yrs; Associates degree 11 yrs; High School 12 yrs.
