Primary Function:

The Processing Supervisor is a mid-level position within the Qualla Enterprises, LLC organizational structure and supervises the team members responsible for the preparation of cannabis products for retail sale and will provide oversight of the inventory and packaging areas at the farm and the dispensary. The Processing Supervisor ensures compliance with guidelines set forth by the CCB and provides technical leadership and guidance to team members to ensure daily work, productivity, and quality goals are met as outlined by management. The Processing Supervisor is responsible for the prioritization, completion, and documentation of all tasks performed by the processing team as instructed by the Processing Manager. These specific functions are more fully explained below in the Job Duties and Responsibilities section.

Supervises:Processing Operator, Processing Technician

Pay Grade/FLSA Status: S6/Non-exempt

 

Qualifications:

·        High School diploma or equivalent required

·        Associates degree in a related field preferred

·        Experience in cannabis/agricultural industry preferred

·        1 year experience in warehousing and inventory management w related software preferred

·        1 year supervisory experience preferred

·        Must be at least 21 years of age

·        Ability to pass a comprehensive background check

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Monitor the status of the dry room and all product in the process of drying

·        Oversee the handling and transporting of all harvested plants from drying rooms to the trim room

·        Handle, transport, and dispose of any waste material from trim rooms

·        Record wet and dry weight for all product including flowers and trim.

·        Assist in ensuring accurate filling, packaging, and labeling of products within the Qualla production facility including, but not limited to: finished flower, pre-rolls, cartridges, concentrates, and other infused products

·        Assist with oversight of bulk packaging, transfer, and storing of cannabis products

·        Ensure plants are processed in a quick and efficient manner, while ensuring high quality product standards

·        Track the amount of unusable waste for each plant/batch, in addition to usable by-products

·        Perform proper techniques for harvesting, drying and curing cannabis

·        Record daily deliveries and evaluate new shipments

·        Oversee packaging functions to ensure that inventory needs are met

·        Inspect levels of cannabis-related supplies to identify shortages

·        Ensure product stock is adequate to cover direct demand from dispensary customers

·        Utilize POS software to monitor demand to document and reconcile inventory of all products

·        Analyze inventory data to anticipate future needs for dispensary

·        Collaborate with farm employees, dispensary employees, and other staff to ensure internal goals are met

·        Maintain accurate records of daily processing and communicate those records to management

·        Understand and apply Qualla’s seed to sale tracking program

·        Follow appropriate control measures to prevent mixing of batches and/or weights of batches

·        Assure daily compliance with regulatory guidelines including CCB/EBCI regulation compliance, security protocols, access protocols, facility maintenance, and work schedules

·        Supervise processing employees through coaching, addressing complaints and resolving employee issues

·        Ensure effective and appropriate communication with team members to increase team unity and operative flow

·        Ensure all production/processing areas/equipment at farm and dispensary are clean and sanitized at all times according to standard operating procedures

·        Other duties as assigned by management

 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

 

·        Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills

·        Strong attention to detail in accurate recordkeeping

·        Ability to work effectively both as part of a team and individually without close supervision

·        Ability to work within strict time frames and resolute deadlines

·        In-depth knowledge of large-scale, commercial cannabis processing

·        Must be adept at industry best practices and current on new techniques and insights with respect to cannabis processing

 

Physical Demands:

·        Ability to tolerate varying temperatures and working conditions as dictated by an agricultural environment

·        Ability to work 10 to 20 feet off the ground using ladders

·        Manual dexterity to reach and handle small items, and work with fingers generally

·        Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds

·        Ability to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods
