About the role

This is a rare opportunity to join Peak during one of the most exciting periods of growth in the operation's history.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead the entire Processing function, including Operations, Metallurgy, Laboratory and Plant Maintenance, while helping shape the future of a complex polymetallic operation producing copper, gold, lead and zinc concentrates. The department comprises approximately 60 employees across multiple disciplines and plays a critical role in delivering Peak's operational and strategic objectives.

Peak is currently undergoing significant investment, with major projects focused on increasing processing capacity, improving water management and supporting future ore sources from across the Cobar Basin. As a member of the site leadership team, you will work closely with technical, operational and project stakeholders to ensure these investments translate into sustainable performance, a strong safety culture and continued growth across the operation.

This role will suit an experienced leader who enjoys building capable teams, fostering collaboration and empowering people to achieve their best. You'll have the opportunity to influence not only plant performance, but the long-term capability, culture and success of the entire processing department.

  • Roster: 8/6, 12 hours per day (Dayshift only)

Key responsibilities

  • Lead Processing Operations, Metallurgy, Laboratory and Fixed Plant Maintenance

  • Foster a strong culture of safety, accountability and continuous improvement

  • Deliver processing, recovery, reliability and cost performance outcomes

  • Develop and lead a high-performing, engaged and capable team

  • Lead departmental planning, budgeting and forecasting activities

  • Support major plant expansion, optimisation and improvement projects

  • Partner with Mining, Technical Services and Projects to maximise business outcomes

  • Contribute as a key member of the site leadership team

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree in Metallurgy, Mineral Processing, Chemical Engineering or similar

  • Senior leadership experience within a mining processing operation

  • Strong technical experience across base metals and/or gold processing

  • Experience leading multidisciplinary operational teams

  • Plant optimisation and project delivery experience

  • Strong commercial and financial management capability

  • Proven ability to build high-performing teams

  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence
