Principal Recruiter

Patriot Growth Insurance Services | United States | Remote | Full-Time

Why This Role Matters

As a Principal Recruiter, you'll help Patriot anticipate hiring needs and connect its regions and agencies with experienced talent. As a senior individual contributor and talent advisor, you'll own recruiting strategy and delivery for an assigned portfolio, initially focused on account management and client service talent supporting business growth and priority producer hires.

Your work will extend beyond individual searches. You'll build proactive pipelines, advise leaders on hiring tradeoffs, and help strengthen a more consistent, business-aligned Talent Acquisition function. Through complex search delivery, peer coaching, and recruiting program development, you'll help teams address immediate priorities while preparing for future needs.

How You'll Make an Impact

  • Own recruiting strategy and business partnership for your assigned portfolio, prioritizing account management and client service talent.
  • Advise business leaders and HR Business Partners on anticipated needs, critical capabilities, hiring priorities, and realistic recruiting plans.
  • Guide decisions on talent availability, compensation, role requirements, and work arrangements, recommending alternatives when constraints put hiring at risk.
  • Partner with Producer Recruiting, business leaders, and HR Business Partners to anticipate service staffing needs associated with incoming producers.
  • Lead searches from intake through offer acceptance, including search planning, candidate assessment, hiring recommendations, offer coordination, and candidate closing.
  • Develop talent market maps and professional networks to understand talent availability for priority roles.
  • Build proactive pipelines for anticipated needs, tracking candidate qualifications, interest, compensation expectations, and availability.
  • Source talent through referrals, professional networks, recruiting platforms, and talent databases, engaging passive candidates for current and future opportunities.
  • Evaluate sourcing effectiveness, candidate conversion, and pipeline readiness, adjusting your approach based on results and market feedback.
  • Maintain accurate ATS records, provide concise search updates, and communicate promptly with candidates and hiring teams.
  • Coordinate external recruiting partners, maintaining clear expectations for delivery, candidate submissions, and ownership.
  • Coach recruiters and serve as a subject-matter resource on complex searches, sourcing, assessment, and business partnership.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition Leadership and business experts to strengthen assessment standards and interview tools.
  • Identify recurring delivery barriers and lead improvements to recruiting workflows, tools, and practices.
  • Partner with HR Technology and Talent Acquisition Leadership to improve approved recruiting technology and AI use while preserving human judgment and accountability.
  • Lead assigned talent acquisition programs that strengthen talent attraction, broaden pipelines, and support future business needs.

Who You Are

  • A credible, hands-on talent advisor who balances business urgency with candidate quality and experience.
  • A confident partner who challenges assumptions constructively and offers practical alternatives.
  • Proactive in anticipating talent needs and building relationships before a position opens.
  • Collaborative and generous with your expertise, helping colleagues strengthen their recruiting capabilities.
  • Accountable and organized, with a clear approach to managing competing priorities.
  • Transparent about progress, barriers, and decisions that require attention.
  • Focused on simplifying work, solving problems, and following through on commitments.

What You Bring

Day One:

  • 7+ years of progressive full-cycle recruiting experience, including at least 3 years recruiting account management, client service, or related talent within insurance brokerage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated success directly sourcing and closing experienced talent for complex or difficult-to-fill searches.
  • Experience building proactive pipelines for recurring hiring needs.
  • Experience advising leaders and managing competing recruiting priorities across a decentralized organization with multiple locations.
  • Proficiency with ATS platforms, sourcing tools, and other recruiting technology.
  • Ability to maintain reliable records, interpret recruiting data, and recommend practical improvements.
  • Experience coordinating external recruiting partners and maintaining clear expectations for delivery, candidate submissions, and ownership.

Valuable Additions:

  • An established professional network within insurance brokerage account management and client service talent markets.
  • Experience designing and implementing talent acquisition programs or talent attraction initiatives beyond individual searches.
  • Experience using talent market intelligence and competitive research to influence hiring decisions and business planning.
  • Relevant recruiting or HR certification.

About Patriot Growth Insurance Services

At Patriot, we build our teams around a simple idea: people do their best work when they feel supported as whole people, not just managed as employees. We're invested in your growth, not just your output, and we back that up with a competitive salary and a comprehensive health and welfare program that extends to your family and domestic partners too, because who you're building a life with matters to us as much as the work you do.

Founded in 2019, Patriot is a growth-focused national insurance services firm that partners with employee benefits and property and casualty agencies across the United States. We're currently ranked the 25th-largest broker in the U.S. by Business Insurance and were named to the 2025 Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing companies.
