A Day in the Life
Endoscopy Finance supports the U.S. commercial business by providing financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis, and decision support that enable revenue growth, margin expansion, and effective resource allocation across the portfolio. The team partners closely with Commercial, Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain leaders to translate business strategies into financial outcomes and drive data-informed decisions.This role is based at the Medtronic campus in Mounds View, Minnesota and follows an onsite work model with a minimum of four days per week in the office.
As a Principal Financial Analyst, you will serve as the primary finance business partner supporting the U.S. Commercial organization. This role is responsible for revenue forecasting, financial planning, scenario modeling, and performance analysis that inform strategic and operational decisions. You will work cross-functionally to identify growth opportunities, evaluate business risks, and support initiatives that improve revenue, margin, and inventory performance.Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary finance partner to U.S. Commercial leadership, providing financial insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Lead revenue forecasting activities, including monthly outlooks, annual planning, risk assessment, and opportunity identification.
- Develop scenario models and business cases to evaluate growth opportunities, investments, and commercial strategies.
- Analyze sales, profitability, pricing, and margin performance and provide actionable recommendations to business partners.
- Partner with Marketing and Operations teams to support pricing strategies and margin improvement initiatives.
- Support Integrated Business Planning (IBP) activities, including demand and supply alignment, inventory management, product lifecycle planning, and allocation decisions.
- Develop and maintain field revenue quota methodologies, performance reporting, and achievement analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement in forecasting, reporting, and financial planning processes to enhance decision quality and business performance.
- Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of finance and/or accounting experience, or an advanced degree with 5+ years of finance and/or accounting experience.
- Experience supporting forecasting, budgeting, financial planning, and business performance analysis.
- Experience developing financial models, conducting variance analysis, and translating data into business recommendations.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting tools.
- Experience partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to support business decision-making.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business.
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation.
- Experience supporting commercial, sales, marketing, or revenue-focused business functions.
- Experience with SAP, Hyperion, BusinessObjects (BOXI), CMR, SPEND, or similar enterprise financial systems.
- Experience supporting Integrated Business Planning (IBP), pricing strategy, inventory management, or margin improvement initiatives.
For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
