In theHPE Hybrid Cloud, we lead the innovation agenda and technology roadmap for all of HPE. This includes managing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation cloud platform, Green Lake. Working with customers, we help them reimagine their information technology needs to deliver a simple, consumable solution that helps them drive their business results. What you’ll do:

Senior individual-contributor technical leader responsible forend-to-end system and cloud architecture, providing organization-wide technical direction to Experts, senior engineers, and engineering teams. The role requires deep cloud/software expertise combined with broad system knowledge acrosscompute, networking, storage, virtualization, security, operating systems, high availability, manageability, and cloud infrastructure. 

Responsibilities:

• Own and driveend-to-end architecture for complex cloud and infrastructure solutions spanning software, compute, networking, storage, virtualization, security, and management layers.
• Providetechnical leadership and architectural direction to Experts and engineering teams, driving alignment across products and technology domains.
• Define reference architectures, interfaces, integration patterns, and engineering standards for scalable, secure, reliable, and maintainable systems.
• Lead architecture/design reviews and drive critical decisions involvingscalability, performance, availability, security, resiliency, and cost.
• Drive architecture forcloud-native, hybrid-cloud, distributed systems, APIs, Kubernetes, automation, observability, and infrastructure management.
• Identify cross-stack dependencies, failure modes, technology risks, and system bottlenecks and lead resolution of complex customer and production issues.
• Evaluate emerging technologies, drive proof-of-concepts and innovation, and influencemulti-year technology and product roadmaps.
• Mentor and develop Experts and senior engineers, establish engineering best practices, and raise technical capability across the organization.
• Influence customers, product management, senior technologists, and leadership through clear articulation of architecture options, trade-offs, risks, and business value.

What you need to bring:

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent.
• 12-15 years of experience in product engineering, cloud infrastructure, systems software, platform engineering, or related R&D.
• Proven experience architecting and deliveringlarge-scale, production-grade systems across multiple technology domains.
• Demonstrated technical leadership ofsenior engineers, Experts, architects, or multiple engineering teams.
• Experience driving major capabilities througharchitecture, development, deployment, lifecycle management, and customer adoption.

Knowledge and Skills:

• Deep expertise incloud, hybrid cloud, distributed systems, and enterprise infrastructure architecture.
• Strong system-level understanding ofservers/compute, networking, storage, virtualization, Linux/Windows, security, HA/DR, and manageability.
• Strong knowledge ofKubernetes/containers, REST APIs, microservices, databases, messaging, automation, CI/CD, and observability.
• Strong programming and design skills in one or more ofPython, Java, Go, C/C++, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Expertise inscalability, performance, resiliency, fault tolerance, security, and system troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to remain technically hands-on throughprototyping, architecture/design reviews, code reviews, and complex problem solving. The source Expert roles establish hands-on engineering and technical reviews as important expectations even at senior technical levels. 
• Strong ability tolead through influence, mentor senior technical talent, resolve architectural disagreements, and drive cross-team technical decisions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to present and negotiate architectural decisions withsenior engineering, product, customer, and executive stakeholders. 

Principal-level differentiator

Operates beyond component or domain expertise, owns system-level architecture and technical direction, and leads Experts and engineering teams across organizational boundaries while remaining hands-on on critical technical problems.
