About the Role
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for completing a wide range of maintenance tasks across our residential portfolio. This is a hands-on role that combines reactive maintenance, preventative maintenance, property presentation, tenant liaison, and general handyman duties.
No two days are the same. You will work independently while collaborating closely with property managers, tenants, contractors, and the wider maintenance team to ensure our properties remain safe, well-maintained, and presented to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out general repairs and maintenance across residential properties.
- Attend to reactive maintenance requests including minor plumbing, appliance faults, building repairs, and general handyman tasks.
- Assist with landscaping, gardening, water blasting, and property presentation.
- Support room and property turnarounds, including clearing vacated properties and moving stock items.
- Complete preventative maintenance to ensure long-term asset performance.
- Record and manage maintenance work orders and job records.
- Monitor maintenance materials and stock levels.
- Liaise professionally with tenants, suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Contribute to a safe working environment and comply with Health & Safety requirements.
About You
You will be a self-starter who enjoys finding solutions and delivering excellent service.
Ideally, you will have:
- At least 3 years' experience in a handyman, maintenance, or similar role.
- Practical experience carrying out general building maintenance and repairs.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety practices.
- Good computer skills and confidence using work order systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in your work.
- The ability to prioritise workloads and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- A positive, team-focused attitude and willingness to help where needed.
Bonus Points For
- Experience working within property management or residential accommodation.
- Knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act.
