The PPHS Vice President, Supply Chain Management is responsible for the strategic direction, daily execution, and overall organizational leadership as it relates to all Supply Chain processes and operations. This role includes Purchasing, Contract Management, Value Analysis, Supply System Management, Materials Management, Linen Services, Vendor Management, Perioperative Supply Chain, Fleet Maintenance, Asset Management, and Supplier Diversity Program. In addition, this position is responsible for national/regional GPO and distribution center optimization, vendor management, and cost optimization/reduction initiatives.

Job Summary The PPHS Vice President, Supply Chain Management is responsible for the strategic direction, daily execution, and overall organizational leadership as it relates to all Supply Chain processes and operations. This role includes Purchasing, Contract Management, Value Analysis, Supply System Management, Materials Management, Linen Services, Vendor Management, Perioperative Supply Chain, Fleet Maintenance, Asset Management, and Supplier Diversity Program. In addition, this position is responsible for national/regional GPO and distribution center optimization, vendor management, and cost optimization/reduction initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in related field. Required Master’s degree in business administration. Preferred Work Experience Seven or more years’ Progressive experience in organizing and optimizing a supply chain system for a large hospital, preferably in healthcare system. Required Five or more years’ experience within a multi hospital healthcare system. Preferred Licenses/ Certifications Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) Preferred Essential Functions Develop and execute the health system's supply chain strategy aligned with organizational goals. Lead long-term planning for procurement, logistics, distribution, inventory management, and supply standardization. Drive supply chain transformation initiatives, including technology, automation, and process improvement. Serve as a key advisor to executive leadership on supply chain risks, opportunities, and market trends. Partners with executive leadership, physicians, clinical leaders, and operational stakeholders to identify opportunities for cost reduction, operational improvement, and standardization. Direct multi-million supply expense budgets. Identify and achieve cost savings through strategic sourcing, contract optimization, and utilization management for operational savings on non-labor expenses. Manage relationships with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), distributors, manufacturers, and service providers. Develop business cases and ROI analyses for supply chain investments. Ensure accurate financial reporting, benchmarking, and performance measurement of supply chain operations. Oversee sourcing, contracting, purchasing, and vendor management functions. Lead value analysis efforts to standardize products while maintaining clinical quality and outcomes. Negotiate enterprise-wide contracts and partnerships. Leads contract negotiations and sourcing initiatives to maximize value and total cost of ownership. Ensure alignment between purchasing decisions and organizational financial objectives by balancing GPO agreements and market share. Ensures uninterrupted availability of supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, and purchased services necessary for patient care and business operations. Establishes governance processes that support evidence-based product selection and clinical integration. Evaluates emerging technologies, products, and service offerings to improve quality, operational efficiency, and financial performance. Direct inventory management across hospitals, ambulatory facilities, physician practices, and other care sites. Optimize distribution networks, warehousing operations, and replenishment processes to include receiving, inventory management, asset management, pandemic cache' and fleet operations. Establish inventory controls that balance product availability with financial performance. Reduce waste, obsolescence, expiration, and stockouts. Lead supplier diversity initiatives and focus on sustainability. Establishes key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory turns, fill rates, stockouts, contract compliance, operating expense management, and customer satisfaction. Partners with physicians, nursing leaders, pharmacy leaders, and operational executives to align supply choices with patient care requirements. Lead or support value analysis committees. Facilitate clinical product evaluations, conversions, and standardization initiatives. Balance cost, quality, patient safety, and clinician satisfaction. Develop supply continuity and business continuity plans. Manage disruptions related to shortages, recalls, natural disasters, pandemics, and geopolitical events. Monitor supply market risks and implement mitigation strategies. Build supplier diversity and alternative sourcing strategies when appropriate. Ensures integrity in Item File while reducing redundancy and errors. Oversee ERP, procurement, inventory management, and supply chain technology platforms. Leverage data analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvement. Establish dashboards and KPIs for systemwide supply chain performance. Promote digital transformation, automation, AI, and predictive analytics initiatives. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and organizational policies to include NIAHO Standards, DNV Standards, and ISO 9001 Standards. Maintain contract management and procurement governance processes. Support audit readiness and risk management activities. Ensure ethical sourcing and adherence to industry standards. Implement processes to mitigate operational, financial, and supply disruption risks. Lead and develop supply chain, sourcing, logistics, inventory, and procurement teams. Build leadership succession plans and talent pipelines. Establish performance expectations and accountability measures. Foster a culture of service, innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with vendors, distributors, GPOs, manufacturers, and service providers Develops supplier performance standards and monitors vendor compliance with contractual obligations, service level agreements, and organizational expectations. Leads supplier diversity initiatives consistent with organizational goals and community engagement efforts. Coordinates contingency planning and supply disruption mitigation strategies. Leads Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement initiatives focused on operational excellence. Establishes measurable goals and performance metrics for all supply chain functions. Identifies opportunities to streamline workflows, eliminate waste, improve customer service, and optimize resource utilization. Maintains accountability for departmental and system-wide supply chain performance outcomes.
