Senior Systems Engineering Lead

This role is built for asystems engineering leader who can drive acquisition documentation, mature technical baselines, manage risk, and anchor the technical backbone of a major Group 4+ UAS program through RFP release and source selection. It reflects ahigh‑accountability, high‑visibility position requiring mastery of requirements development, MBSE, risk governance, and cross‑functional leadership.

The Senior Systems Engineering Lead for the Group 4+ UAS program serves as theprimary technical integrator and acquisition engineering authority responsible for shaping, refining, and delivering all major technical artifacts required for the program’s RFP release, source selection, and early execution phases. This role leads development of theSystem Performance Specification (SPS),Systems Engineering Plan (SEP),IP/Data Rights strategy, andrisk management framework, ensuring alignment with the MTA‑RP pathway and government acquisition objectives.

This position requires deep expertise inrequirements decomposition,MBSE,risk governance,technical evaluation planning, andcross‑functional coordination across legal, contracting, safety, and engineering teams.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree + 20 years of relevant experience or a Master's Degree + 18 years of relevant experience.
  • Degree must be an engineering degree from an accredited program of study.
• Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. security clearance.
• Advanced experience in DoW systems engineering, preferably with UAS, aviation, or complex weapon systems.
• Demonstrated leadership inacquisition documentation, including SEP, SPS, AP, and RFP technical sections.
• Expertise inMBSE, requirements decomposition, and digital engineering environments.
• Strong understanding ofIP/Data Rights, sustainment strategies, and government contracting interfaces.
• Proven ability to leadrisk management, technical working groups, and cross‑functional IPTs.
• Experience supportingsource selection, evaluation criteria development, and technical review boards.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to synthesize complex technical issues for senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience withMTA‑RP or rapid acquisition pathways.
• Familiarity withUAS mission sets, payload integration, and air‑vehicle performance analysis.
• Experience defending technical requirements duringsafety reviews or independent engineering assessments.
• Background inLSI strategy development or integration model trade‑space analysis.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: This job typically operates in a professional office environment with moderate noise level. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This role may be required to remain stationary for extended periods of time. This role may require lifting lightweight objects, typically used in an office environment, such as a computer laptop, files, or copy paper.

For some, acknowledged at hire and in support of specified contract tasks, this role may be required to
work outside in moderate weather conditions, stand/remain stationary for long hours, and climb in and
out of vehicles/aircraft. The noise level in this work environment ranges from moderate to loud and may
require protective devices such as wearing ear plugs. Specific vision abilities required include close vision,
distance vision and the ability to differentiate between colors.
