Job Title: Power BI Embedded Engineer / Developer
Location: Hybrid (Atlanta, GA)

Duration: Contract

Role Overview
We are seeking a skilledPower BI Embedded Engineer to design, develop, and integrateembedded analytics within the LockThreat platform. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Power BI, secure data access, and application-level integrations.
This role focuses on deliveringsecure, scalable, and user-specific reporting experiences, ensuring users can only access data based on their authentication and authorization levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implementPower BI Embedded solutions within the LockThreat application.
  • Ensuresecure authentication and authorization mechanisms, enabling role-based and user-level access to reports and datasets.
  • Develop and managerow-level security (RLS) and other access control strategies in Power BI.
  • Enablereport viewing and download capabilities for authorized users.
  • Integrate Power BI reports with LockThreat features such asemail notifications, alerts, and workflows.
  • Build and maintain aconfiguration panel within LockThreat to dynamically connect and manage Power BI reports.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to ensure seamlessUI/UX integration of embedded reports.
  • Optimize performance and scalability of embedded dashboards and datasets.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related todata access, embedding, and report performance.

Next Phase Responsibilities (Future Enhancements)
  • Implementdrill-down and interactive analytics capabilities within embedded reports.
  • Ensuredrill-down functionality respects user authentication and authorization controls.
  • Enhance reporting capabilities withadvanced filtering and dynamic data exploration features.

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience working with Power BI, including Power BI Embedded.
  • Strong experience with:
    • Power BI Service & Power BI Embedded (Azure)
    • DAX, Power Query, and data modeling
  • Hands-on experience implementingRow-Level Security (RLS) and data access controls.
  • Experience withauthentication and authorization frameworks (Azure AD, OAuth, SSO).
  • Strong understanding ofREST APIs and embedding techniques.
  • Experience integrating Power BI withcustom applications or SaaS platforms.
  • Knowledge ofdata security best practices and governance.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working withAzure services (Azure AD, Azure App Services, Azure SQL, etc.).
  • Familiarity withbackend development (C#, .NET, Node.js, or Python).
  • Experience inbuilding admin/configuration panels for application integrations.
  • Knowledge ofemail integrations and event-driven workflows.
  • Experience working incybersecurity or risk management platforms (nice to have).
