Job Description :
The Client is seeking aPower BI & Data Engineerfordesign, development, and optimizationof acloud-based analytics environmentbuilt onMicrosoft AzureandPower BIfor theChild Welfare and Medicaid Program(s). The Client requires the assistance of a contract resource to serve as aData Engineerresponsible for thedesign, development, and optimization of data pipelines and analytics solutions/dashboardsoncloud-based data platforms. This work will leverageAzure Synapse Analytics, Power BI, and integrations withSalesforceorCuram/Oracleto support program needs. Key Responsibilities: Analyze source systems and design, develop, and maintain scalableETL/ELT pipelinesusingAzure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, and relatedAzure services. Build and managedata ingestion workflows from Salesforce, includingAPI integrations, schema alignment, and performance tuning. Develop and maintaindata models, data transformations, and semantic layersto supportPower BI reporting and analytics. OptimizeSynapse pipelines, SQL queries, and data storageforperformance, reliability, and cost efficiency. Troubleshootpipeline failures, Salesforce API issues, and Power BI dataset/dataflow refresh problems.

Required Skills :

• Strong Hands-on experience configuring, designing, developing and testingdashboards using Power BI

• Experience supportingPower BI datasets, dataflows, and DirectQuery/Import models.

• Experience working withstructured and semi-structured data formats (JSON, CSV, Parquet, etc.).

• Strong experience in designing and optimizingscalable data pipelinesusing modern platforms likeAzure Synapse, Snowflake or Databricks workflows

• SQL Mastery:Advanced query writing,ETL/ELT, performance tuning, and optimization.Programming Languages:Strong proficiency inPython or Scalafor data processing.

• Hands-on experience in developing efficientPL/SQL procedures

• Experience withProgramming and Scripting (SQL, T-SQL, and data query optimization)

• Solid understanding ofAzure cloud services (Synapse, Data Lake, Data Factory, Azure SQL, monitoring tools).

• Experience inAzure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Delta Lake, and data modeling concepts and Warehousing (star schema, snowflake schema)
