Power Automate Developer

We are seeking a highly motivated Power Automate Developer to design, develop, and support intelligent workflow automation solutions for utility operations. The ideal candidate will leverage the Microsoft Power Platform ecosystem to automate business processes across electric, gas, and energy operations, improving operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, customer experience, and workforce productivity.

The role will work closely with business stakeholders, operations teams, customer service, field services, GIS, asset management, and enterprise application teams to implement scalable automation solutions using Power Automate, Power Apps, Dataverse, SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and Azure services.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Development

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy cloud and desktop flows using Microsoft Power Automate.
  • Build end-to-end business process automation solutions leveraging Power Platform components.
  • Develop integrations with enterprise applications, including ERP, CIS, GIS, Work Management, Asset Management, and Customer Care systems.
  • Create reusable workflow components, templates, and automation standards.
  • Develop approval workflows, notifications, document processing, and exception-handling mechanisms.
  • Implement secure and scalable solutions following enterprise governance standards.

Utility Business Process Automation

  • Automate utility business processes such as:
    • Work order management
    • Asset inspection and maintenance workflows
    • Outage management support processes
    • Metering and billing operations
    • Customer service request processing
    • Regulatory reporting workflows
    • Environmental and safety compliance processes
    • Vegetation management and field operations approvals
  • Support digital transformation initiatives across utility operations and customer experience programs.

Integration & Data Management

  • Develop integrations using REST APIs, custom connectors, Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server, Azure Services, and third-party applications.
  • Integrate workflows with Microsoft Teams, Outlook, SharePoint Online, Power BI, and Azure services.
  • Support automation monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Implement data validation, error handling, and operational reporting.

Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Gather requirements and translate business needs into technical automation solutions.
  • Conduct workshops and process discovery sessions with business users.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, project managers, and utility subject matter experts.
  • Provide production support and continuous improvement recommendations.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Power Platform.
  • 3+ years of experience developing Power Automate workflows.
  • Experience with Power Apps and Dataverse.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 ecosystem.
  • Experience integrating applications through APIs, REST services, and custom connectors.
  • Strong SQL and data management skills.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in Electric, Gas, Water, Renewable Energy, or Utility organizations.
  • Knowledge of utility business functions including:
    • Customer Operations
    • Meter-to-Cash
    • Asset Management
    • Transmission & Distribution
    • Field Services
    • Outage Management
    • Regulatory Compliance
  • Experience with SAP, Maximo, ArcGIS, Oracle Utilities, or similar utility platforms.
  • Experience with Azure Integration Services and AI-powered automation.
  • Microsoft Power Platform Developer Associate Certification (PL-400).
  • Power Platform Solution Architect experience is a plus.
