Job Title: PostgreSQL Developer
Client: Infosys (End Client: State Street)
Location: Boston, MA / Irvine, CA (Hybrid)

Job Summary

Infosys is seeking an experiencedPostgreSQL Developer to support critical data management and application modernization initiatives forState Street. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in PostgreSQL database development, SQL optimization, performance tuning, and data modeling. Experience in the Banking or Financial Services domain is highly preferred.

Required Experience

• 6+ years of experience in PostgreSQL database development.
• Strong hands-on experience withPostgreSQL 12+.
• Expertise in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and triggers usingPL/pgSQL.
• Experience in database design, normalization, and data modeling.
• Strong knowledge of query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning.
• Experience with PostgreSQL backup, recovery, replication, and high availability.
• Experience with database migrations and schema versioning tools.
• Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and shell scripting.
• Experience working with Java/Spring Boot applications and REST APIs is a plus.
• Experience using Git and Agile development methodologies.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain PostgreSQL databases and database objects.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.
• Design and maintain relational database schemas to support enterprise applications.
• Monitor database health, troubleshoot production issues, and resolve performance bottlenecks.
• Implement backup, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Collaborate with application developers, architects, DBAs, and business stakeholders.
• Support data migration, ETL processes, and database upgrades.
• Ensure database security, integrity, and compliance with enterprise standards.
• Participate in code reviews and database design discussions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PostgreSQL replication (Streaming Replication, Logical Replication).
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL extensions (PostGIS, pg_stat_statements, etc.).
• Experience with cloud database services such as AWS RDS for PostgreSQL or Azure Database for PostgreSQL.
• Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience with monitoring tools such as pgAdmin, Grafana, Prometheus, Splunk, or ELK.
• Exposure to ETL tools and data integration technologies.
• Banking or Financial Services domain experience is highly preferred.
