- Base Salary starting at $117,936 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will contribute to the research agenda of the Faculty and School through high-quality research and scholarly activities within the discipline. The role will apply and develop research expertise while contributing to independent and collaborative research projects under the guidance of senior academic staff.
The successful candidate will conduct research activities that contribute to discipline knowledge, maintain research excellence and support the advancement of the University’s research priorities. The role will also contribute to student mentoring, academic activities and collaboration with research partners and stakeholders to support impactful research outcomes.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- conduct research, scholarly or professional activities independently or as part of a research team, contributing to discipline knowledge
- develop and refine independent research skills under the supervision of more senior academic staff, with increasing autonomy
- maintain quality, standards and excellence across research activities and outputs
- provide informal mentoring and advice to students within the discipline where appropriate
- carry out administrative tasks and contribute to Faculty and School meetings
- interact with students, staff and members of the University community in a professional, collegial and respectful manner
- maintain an understanding of the University’s strategic agenda and contribute to furthering its priorities
- contribute to the strategic direction of the Faculty, School or Portfolio through research activities and engagement
- undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
- a doctorate or PhD in a relevant field
- demonstrated understanding of the subject matter within the discipline
- experience conducting original research and engaging in scholarly activity
- a developing research profile within the relevant discipline or area of expertise
- developing networks with academic, industry and professional partners and stakeholders
- strong research capability with experience contributing to research outputs
- excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, students and stakeholders
- strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- ability to deliver presentations effectively and communicate research findings to relevant audiences
- strong computer literacy skills and ability to utilise research-related technologies.
