Role overview The Commercial Card Launch PMO will support client’s team in end-to-end planning and execution of a commercial card programme from mobilisation and product definition through testing, launch and postlaunch stabilisation. The role is the central coordination point across Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, Finance, Marketing, Sales and external partners, combining programme discipline with practical cards-domain knowledge. Key responsibilities Programme mobilisation and governance • Establish the programme charter, scope, objectives, success measures, governance structure, workstreams and decision forums. • Develop and maintain the integrated implementation plan across product, technology, operations, controls, go-to-market and launch readiness. • Maintain the RACI, action log, RAID log, dependency tracker, change log, decision log and stakeholder communication plan. • Produce concise executive reporting and drive timely escalation and decision closure. Commercial card launch delivery • Coordinate delivery from product definition and solution setup through close monitoring of testing, go-live and post-launch stabilization activities. • Manage dependencies across customer onboarding, card issuance, transaction processing, controls, billing, servicing, fraud, disputes, reconciliation and reporting. • Coordinate card network, processor, technology vendor, personalization and other external-party activities. • Act as the bridge between product/business owners and technical teams, ensuring milestones remain aligned to business outcomes. Requirements and solution coordination • Facilitate definition and validation of business, operational and customer requirements. • Support preparation or review of BRDs, functional requirements, user stories, process flows and operating procedures. • Identify functional and operating gaps and drive closure plans with accountable owners. • Assess proposed changes for scope, timeline, cost, risk and customer impact. Testing and operational readiness • Establish the integrated test and readiness plan covering SIT, UAT, operational readiness, certification and pilot activities, as applicable. • Track test preparation, environments, data, execution, defects, retesting and exit criteria. • Ensure business scenarios cover the relevant commercial card lifecycle and customer journeys. • Coordinate readiness across Operations, Customer Service, Finance, Fraud, Risk, Compliance and Sales support. Risk, compliance and approvals • Coordinate regulatory, legal, risk, compliance, security and internal governance approvals required for launch. • Track completion of scheme requirements, controls, audit evidence and risk assessments. • Drive practical mitigation and contingency plans for delivery, customer, regulatory and operational risks. Required experience and skills • 7–10 years of programme, project, product-delivery or business-analysis experience in banking, cards, payments or fintech. • Demonstrated participation in an end-to-end card launch, major enhancement, issuer-processing implementation or platform migration. • Strong knowledge of the issuing ecosystem and end-to-end card lifecycle. • Hands-on capability in integrated planning, RAID management, executive reporting, testing governance, cutover and stabilisation. • Ability to translate between business and technical teams and drive delivery through influence. • Strong facilitation, negotiation, written communication and senior-stakeholder management skills. • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Technology, Engineering or a related discipline. Preferred experience • Commercial, corporate, purchasing, business debit or virtual-card experience. • Experience with issuer processors, scheme certification, expense management, spend controls or ERP integration. • PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum or comparable certification. • Experience embedded within an issuer or financial institution. Success measures • Delivery against agreed scope, milestones, budget and quality criteria. • Timely closure of approvals, test defects, readiness gaps and critical risks. • Clear governance and effective decision-making across client and third parties. • Stable launch and timely resolution of hypercare issues.
