Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture issues.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide executive level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Our department ensures that Capacity and Technical Infrastructure organizations make sound commercial choices for investments in the enterprise. We are an important advisor to division leaders, providing analytical and strategic guidance.

In this role within the Planning and Analysis (FP&A) group, you will focus on Compute Infrastructure, specifically steering the core Compute Engine suite. You will guide critical operational choices, such as feature sequencing and rate calibration, while delivering bottom-line visibility through profitability assessments. You will collaborate with cross-functional groups to support commercial rollouts, new launches, and balanced capital deployment.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function.
• Experience executing full-cycle FP&A functions including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and modeling within a multinational company setting.
• Experience with SQL.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in business strategy and cloud strategy.
• Experience with communication strategy and presenting financial insights.
• Knowledge of the Cloud and Software industry, including different roles and incentives.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Profit and Loss (P&L) for the Google Compute Engine product portfolio, providing in-depth analysis to optimize financial performance.
• Manage product strategy through monthly and quarterly gross margin reviews and financial forecasting.
• Partner with Product Management and Finance teams to drive business decisions, including product roadmap prioritization, internal and external pricing, and optimizing customer discounts.
• Support Go-To-Market (GTM) initiatives and New Product Introductions (NPI) by conducting unit economics analyses and Profit and Loss impact assessments in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Align Capital Expenditure (CapEx) and Operating Expenditure (OpEx) investments with demand and contribute to efficient resource allocations by partnering with Capacity and Product Finance teams.
