About The Job:
The Platform Engineer (SRE) enables platform service and data product teams to build, test, deploy, and operate solutions efficiently and securely throughout the software development lifecycle. You are responsible for defining, implementing, and continuously improving platform-wide DevOps capabilities, CI/CD standards, infrastructure automation, release management, security best practices and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. The position drives engineering excellence through reusable platform components, automation, security-by-design principles, and developer enablement.

This position collaborates closely with all platform engineering teams to establish a secure, scalable, and highly automated software delivery ecosystem. The role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strategic leadership in areas such as infrastructure as code, CI/CD, release management, observability, and DevSecOps.
The Platform Engineer (SRE) acts as a subject matter expert, defining standards, coaching engineering teams, evaluating new technologies, and promoting best practices through templates, reference implementations, technical demonstrations, and community engagement. Strong experience with cloud platforms, automation frameworks, and modern DevOps toolchains is essential.
Your role
â–ª Implement and continuously improve platform-wide CI/CD standards, pipeline templates, reusable automation components, and deployment patterns including configuration as code.
â–ª Follow standards and best practices for software development, testing, release management, versioning, code quality, and operational excellence.
â–ª Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions and reusable cloud infrastructure modules.
â–ª Conduct code reviews, and technical consultations to ensure adherence to platform standards.
â–ª Evaluate emerging DevOps technologies and engage with strategic vendors to align platform capabilities with the Data & Analytics strategy.
â–ª Collaborate with Cloud, Security, Network, and DevOps Centers of Excellence to deliver compliant and scalable platform services according to enterprise guidelines and controls
â–ª Drive continuous improvement of the developer experience through self-service capabilities, automation, templates, and engineering enablement.
â–ª Improve developer productivity through platform self-service capabilities, golden paths, scaffolding, and reusable engineering assets.
â–ª Foster knowledge sharing within the platform engineering organization through communities of practice, technical trainings, demos, and mentoring activities.
â–ª Contribute assets and best practices to the Platform Engineering team promoting engineering excellence.
â–ª Promote and implement DevSecOps and SRE practices, including reliability engineering, observability, automation, and security-by-design principles.
â–ª Establish and track service reliability objectives (SLIs/SLOs) in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
Your skills
â–ª University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a comparable discipline.
â–ª Experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps Engineering, Cloud Engineering, or related disciplines, experience with data management solutions is a decisive plus
â–ª Strong hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform on Microsoft Azure.
â–ª Extensive experience building and maintaining enterprise CI/CD platforms, ideally using Azure DevOps and GitHub.
â–ª Strong knowledge of source control management, Git workflows, branching strategies, and Semantic Versioning (SemVer).
â–ª Proficiency in PowerShell or other automation and scripting languages.
â–ª Experience with cloud-native infrastructure, networking, security, and identity management on Microsoft Azure.
â–ª Proven knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID, managed identities, service principals, and workload authentication patterns.
â–ª Experience implementing DevSecOps practices including vulnerability management, dependency management, secrets management, and policy enforcement.
â–ª Experience designing and operating highly available, resilient, and observable cloud platforms.
â–ª Knowledge of containerization technologies and Kubernetes (AKS preferred).
â–ª Experience with monitoring and observability solutions such as Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights and datadog.
â–ª Familiarity with the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework and enterprise landing zone architecture
â–ª Excellent English language skills, German is a plus
â–ª Good communication skills, self-driven initiative and strong analytical thinking
â–ª Ability to drive innovation and to solve complex tasks in a dynamic and challenging environment
