The Plant Manager serves as the site leader responsible for the overall business, financial, operational, and strategic performance of a single power generation facility or small customer-dedicated power campus. This position has full site profit and loss (P&L) responsibility. The Plant Manager is accountable for safe and compliant operations, contractual availability and reliability, disciplined cost management, long-term stewardship of generating assets, and development of a high-performing 24/7 organization.Â

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for plant functions, including operations, maintenance, reliability, safety, security, and administration.
- Own the full site P&L including budgeting, forecasting, labor, maintenance, contractors, inventory, outage costs, capital recommendations, and achievement of financial and contractual commitments.
- Execute plant objectives, performance metrics, and operating strategies to achieve safety, compliance, availability, reliability, efficiency, production, and cost-performance targets.
- Ensure the facility is operated and maintained safely, reliably, and efficiently in accordance with permits, contracts, OEM requirements, company standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Direct the operation, maintenance, reliability, and lifecycle stewardship of all generating assets and supporting infrastructure.
- Lead preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs, major outages, overhaul planning, critical-spares management, and long-term asset management strategies to optimize reliability, availability, and lifecycle cost.
- Oversee plant commercial and contractual obligations, including customer commitments, service agreements, contractor performance, warranties, operating constraints, and long-term service agreements.
- Serve as the senior site representative for the customer and lead routine operating reviews regarding plant performance, outages, maintenance schedules, business risks, and corrective actions.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives related to safety, environmental compliance, reliability, equipment performance, and customer service.
- Foster a strong safety and accountability culture through visible leadership, employee engagement, permit-to-work discipline, change management, training, audits, and emergency preparedness.
- Recruit, develop, and retain plant personnel.
- Establish clear performance expectations, operating procedures, work management standards, and performance review processes to drive accountability and operational excellence.
- Partner with Engineering, Project Management, EH&S, FP&A, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Commercial, IT, OEMs, and contractors to support plant performance, expansion projects, commissioning activities, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure accurate and timely operating records, maintenance documentation, financial forecasts, KPI reporting, compliance records, customer reporting, and protection of operational and customer data.
- Support plant startups, commissioning, performance testing, modifications, capacity expansions, and the transition of new facilities from project execution into commercial operation.

Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, operations management, or a related discipline preferred. An equivalent combination of power-generation experience, technical training, and progressive leadership experience may be considered.Â
- Valid Driver's License with Motor Vehicle Record within acceptable Company parameters required.
- Professional Engineer, Certified Energy Manager, Project Management Professional, OSHA, electrical-safety, power-plant-operations, OEM, or reliability credentials preferred, as applicable to the facility.Â

Work Experience
- Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in power generation, utility operations, independent power production, distributed generation, or a comparable heavy industrial environment.Â
- Minimum 3 years of progressive leadership experience managing power-plant operations, maintenance, engineering, or technical teams in a 24/7 environment.Â
- Demonstrated accountability for plant or site financial performance, business planning, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and operating results.Â
- Experience with natural-gas reciprocating engine or gas-turbine generation and associated electrical, control, fuel, emissions, and balance-of-plant systems required.
- Experience leading planned outages, major maintenance, reliability improvement, contractor management, warranty or service-agreement administration, and capital-planning activities.Â
- Experience supporting mission-critical loads, customer-dedicated generation, data centers, microgrids, utilities, or industrial power facilities preferred.Â

Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of power-plant operations and maintenance, equipment reliability, and asset lifecycle management.Â
- Strong business and financial acumen, including P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost optimization, capital prioritization, and economic decision-making.Â
- Working knowledge of applicable safety, environmental, electrical, and operating requirements and the ability to translate requirements into plant procedures and controls.Â
- Demonstrated ability to lead through managers and supervisors, develop talent, resolve conflict, manage organizational change, and sustain a high-accountability culture.Â
- Strong customer leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Â
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
Physical Demands
- Ability to work in an office or outdoor power-plant environment while using required personal protective equipment.Â
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; climb stairs and ladders; bend, stoop, crouch, and move safely across uneven surfaces.Â
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on occasion.
- Exposure to high noise, rotating equipment, energized electrical systems, natural gas, chemicals, dust, vibration, weather, and temperature extremes.Â
