What you will do

• Lead plant accounting activities and support accurate, timely financial reporting.
• Oversee month-end close, general ledger accuracy, and account reconciliations.
• Apply manufacturing cost accounting knowledge to assess production costs, inventory, and operating performance.
• Analyze financial results and explain cost trends and variances to leadership.
• Partner with plant leaders and finance on budgeting, forecasting, and operational decisions.
• Maintain effective accounting controls and reliable financial documentation.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and the usefulness of financial reporting.

What you bring

• A background as a plant controller or in a comparable hands-on manufacturing accounting role.
• Practical knowledge of manufacturing cost accounting, inventory accounting, and financial reporting.
• The ability to manage close activities, investigate discrepancies, and explain results clearly.
• An independent working style and the ability to partner effectively with plant operations and leadership.
• Interest in working at the Walker manufacturing location; experience in a smaller manufacturer is especially relevant.

Compensation and location
The salary range is $120,000–$130,000 annually. This full-time opportunity is based in Walker, Minnesota, in the northern Minnesota lakes area.
