Job Description

Thermo Fisher Scientific is seeking a skilledDevOps Engineer to join our technology team. In this role, you will contribute to the analysis, design, development, testing, and ongoing support of moderately complex technical systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to implement and evolve DevOps practices, ensuring reliable, secure, and scalable infrastructure and delivery pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines usingJenkins andGitHub Actions

• Lead containerization initiatives usingDocker andPodman

• PerformRed Hat Linux server maintenance, upgrades, and migrations

• Set up, maintain, and optimizeRedis servers

• Install, configure, and maintainJenkins environments

• ManageSSL/TLS certificates and ensure secure communication standards

• Maintain and migratevirtual machine environments

• Automate infrastructure and operational tasks usingPython, Bash, and PowerShell

• Collaborate with development and operations teams to embed DevOps best practices

• Supportincident response, root cause analysis, andrelease management activities

Required Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience with relevant formal academic or vocational qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience in systems development, DevOps, or a related role

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong proficiency withCI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub)

• Hands-on experience withscripting and automation (Python, Bash)

• Solid experience withcontainer technologies (Docker, Podman)

• Knowledge ofmonitoring, alerting, and observability tools and strategies

• Familiarity withAgile methodologies, Git workflows, and enterprise compliance standards

• Experience integratingvulnerability scanning and compliance frameworks such asSOC 2 andHIPAA

• Working knowledge ofAzure and AWS cloud platforms

• Strong understanding ofcloud and infrastructure security best practices

• Ability to design proactive alerting and observability solutions

• Proven ability to mentor junior engineers and promote DevOps best practices

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders

• Analytical, detail-oriented, and strong problem-solving mindset
