The Support Services Business Unit is seeking a Project Accountant in Portland, OR.

At David Evans and Associates (DEA), our financial accuracy and strategic insights drive our success. As a Project Accountant, you will play a key role in our Corporate Finance Team, applying advanced accounting principles to maintain accurate records, analyze financial data, and provide valuable insights to leadership. 

This role requires a seasoned accounting professional with experience in financial reporting, general ledger accounting, and budgeting. You will work independently on complex accounting functions, support business leaders with financial analysis, and contribute to continuous process improvements. Under limited supervision, responsibilities will require the ability to resolve issues of varying complexity by exercising independent judgment. This role requires excellent written and verbal communication, attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and exceptional client service skills.

What You’ll Do

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely data entry
  • Initiate contract and project setup reviews
  • Work with project managers and project coordinators on project billings
  • QC the work of others for compliance with policy and contracts
  • Assist with reconciliation of accounts
  • Monitor and adhere to accounting deadlines
  • Assist with preparing, balancing, and filing of certified payroll and prevailing wage
  • Strengthen and maintain good working relationships between the Project Coordinator and Project Accounting teams

What You Bring

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or 5+ years of job cost accounting experience
  • Computer knowledge: Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills with the ability to use formulas

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics SL and Concur
  • Experience with prevailing wage or certified payroll
