Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Performance Test Analyst (Senior Associate) to lead performance testing activities across Grant Thornton applications and platforms. This role is responsible for designing, developing, executing, and optimizing performance test strategies that ensure application scalability, stability, and reliability.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in LoadRunner, JMeter, performance monitoring, and root-cause analysis. In addition to hands-on testing responsibilities, this individual will work closely with development, infrastructure, database, and release teams to identify performance risks, drive remediation efforts, and improve overall system performance throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
The successful candidate is expected to independently manage performance testing assignments, mentor junior team members, and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders based on performance analysis findings.
Responsibilities
·Performance Test Planning & Design
·Analyze requirements and design performance test strategies, scenarios, and workload models.
·Develop and maintain automated performance test scripts using LoadRunner, JMeter, or similar tools.
·Test Execution & Monitoring
·Execute load, stress, endurance, and scalability tests.
·Monitor application, infrastructure, and database performance using approved monitoring tools.
·Performance Analysis
·Analyze test results, identify bottlenecks, and perform root-cause analysis.
·Provide recommendations to improve application performance, scalability, and stability.
·Reporting & Communication
·Prepare performance test reports and present findings to project stakeholders.
·Track performance issues through resolution and validate optimization efforts
·Collaboration
·Partner with development, infrastructure, database, and QA teams to support performance engineering activities.
·Contribute to release readiness and performance risk assessments.
·Mentorship & Continuous Improvement
·Support and mentor junior team members.
·Contribute to testing standards, reusable assets, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Skills
·3–5 years of experience in Performance Testing and Performance Engineering.
·Strong expertise in LoadRunner (Controller, VuGen, Analysis, Performance Center) and/or Apache JMeter.
·Experience designing and executing performance test strategies for enterprise applications.
·Strong understanding of system architecture, application servers, APIs, databases, and cloud technologies.
·Experience performing root-cause analysis using monitoring and observability platforms.
·Hands-on experience with Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, SiteScope, Grafana, Azure Monitor, or equivalent monitoring solutions.
·Knowledge of API performance testing and service-oriented architectures.
·Understanding of database performance concepts, SQL query analysis, and performance tuning fundamentals.
·Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar CI/CD platforms.
·Experience supporting Agile and DevOps delivery models.
·Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
·Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Must Have:
·Strong hands-on experience with LoadRunner and/or JMeter.
·Experience independently leading performance testing engagements.
·Experience analyzing application, infrastructure, and database performance metrics.
·Experience working in large enterprise environments with multiple annual releases.
·Ability to communicate technical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to Have:
·Exposure to Selenium or functional automation frameworks.
·Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform).
·Experience with containerized environments and Kubernetes.
·Understanding of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles.
·Exposure to shift-left performance testing practices.
·Performance testing certifications or tool-specific certifications.
Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications
·3–5 years of experience in Performance Testing, Performance Engineering, or Quality Engineering.
·Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
·Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise-scale applications and digital transformation initiatives.
