Job Description:

This position is responsible for managing day-to-day operations and ensuring that quality patient care is provided across multiple sleep clinics and/or sleep labs throughout a designated geographic area. This includes developing, managing, and achieving budgetary and financial objectives, quality improvement initiatives, program service development, and personnel management for all assigned locations. The position works closely with providers and other members of multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the highest value sub-specialty care.

Primary Children's Hospital is seeking aSleep Services Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of our Sleep Center, support staff development, and ensure the delivery of exceptional diagnostic sleep services.

In this role, you'll combine your clinical expertise with leadership responsibilities to help advance quality patient outcomes, maintain accreditation standards, and foster a collaborative, patient-centered culture.

Position Summary

The Sleep Services Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision and efficient operation of the Sleep Center. This position provides leadership to sleep technologists, ensures the delivery of technically accurate polysomnographic testing, promotes compliance with accreditation and regulatory standards, and supports ongoing staff development and quality improvement efforts.


The supervisor works closely with department leadership and assumes managerial responsibilities when the manager is unavailable.



Essential Responsibilities

  • Administer and oversee technically accurate polysomnographic (PSG) studies.
  • Ensure quality sleep recordings and adherence to established testing protocols.
  • Supervise daily operations of the Sleep Center to ensure efficient workflow and patient care.
  • Coordinate sleep technologist scheduling and staffing needs.
  • Coach, mentor, and support sleep technologists and other team members.
  • Participate as an instructor in the A-STEP training program and mentor entry-level sleep technicians.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance check-ins with direct reports.
  • Support department improvement initiatives and quality enhancement projects.
  • Ensure compliance with AASM accreditation standards and CMS guidelines.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and oversee sleep acquisition hardware and software.
  • Manage inventory and ensure adequate supplies are available.
  • Collaborate with department leadership and assume manager responsibilities when needed.
  • Promote patient satisfaction and exceptional service standards.
  • Ensure staff training, annual competencies, and departmental protocols are completed and followed.
  • Perform all duties of a Registered Sleep Technologist as required.
  • Participate in department-specific on-call responsibilities as needed.


Required Qualifications

  • Minimum of2 years of experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist.
  • CurrentRegistered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT),Registered Sleep Technologist (RST), orRespiratory Therapist with Sleep Disorders Specialty (SDS) credential.
  • CurrentBasic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of leadership or supervisory experience.
  • College coursework and/or continuing education in a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction and coaching.
  • Proven ability to build trust, foster teamwork, and create a positive work environment.
  • Experience measuring and improving employee productivity and operational performance.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of sleep acquisition hardware and software.
  • Experience with AASM accreditation standards and regulatory compliance.
  • Certification in Clinical Sleep Health (CCSH) preferred.

  • Ongoing need for employee to see and read information, documents, monitors, identify equipment and supplies, and be able to assess customer needs.
  • Frequent interactions with providers, colleagues, customers, patients/clients, and visitors that require employee to verbally communicate as well as hear and understand spoken information, needs, and issues quickly and accurately.
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy. This includes frequent computer use for typing, accessing needed information, etc.
  • May have the same physical requirements as those of clinical or patient care jobs, when the leader takes clinical shifts.
  • For roles requiring driving: Expected to drive a vehicle which requires sitting, seeing and reading signs, traffic signals, and other vehicles.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$35.60 - $54.93
